OK fellow workers

On #TradieFriday what's your favoured way if keeping those ears safe at work

Inner ear foam plugs?

Defenders?

Running away?

Noise Cancelling Earbuds (seeing this as a trend so wonder if any research will be done on it?)

I guess it depends upon how good the NC is.

It might allow inaudible frequencies to get through?

There’s a physical protection but the NC bit is using the speaker to counteract the incoming sound and isn’t perfect.

Also the batteries run out and mine all seem to fall out randomly. Oh and it’s only NC when it’s playing something.

Quite insightful and why I don't trust them for that role.

However I'm getting through loads of audio books when I'm just doing other jobs that aren't noisy

I used to work on fighter jets and still have some Pelton ear defenders. Occasionally use ear plugs also.

My ex wife fucking hated it when I put them on when she was talking to me. Love the peace and quiet.

Ear defenders… I wear them all day so I don’t have to listen to b/s from my colleagues!

Central

Noise cancelling just adds more - opposing - noise. It's still present, just with additional vibrations.
