There are far too many of these types of shows on telly now, too many 15 min famous people, don't get me wrong I sometimes catch the X factor or BGT but only at the start, it looses it's appeal once they have all the good acts but there is too much crap on, I'm a celeb, the diving one with Tom daily, when did telly really get this bad that the only ideas are these ones, bbc and itv used to have a sat night movie now it's a few months of terrible singers, dancing dogs and bad dancers and then it starts all over again, I miss the old stuff that used to be on

Angus & Findhorn

I watch some, not all. The ones I do watch I mostly enjoy, if I stop enjoying it I am happy to switch off.

But I do like the idea of families sitting down together and watching them.

there's only usually one running at any given time. that's one or two hours over the course of a week. that's one or two percent of total airtime over one channel.other channels are available.

x factor is quite educational.when it comes on i read a book

I half agree.....some of the ideas for the reality shows are getting a bit thin....but I love Strictly and one born every minute so I am a bit biased.

I agree, with most if not all the novelty has worn a bit thin now. I used to love BB when it first started but lost interest after the 2nd series.

Yes bb was unique but I have no idea what series is on now, they have flogged it to death now, now all they do is find the most extreme people they can and call it entertainment, and don't even start on Jeremy kile, you have to be a idiot to even go on that show, sat nights used to be the generation game, or noals house party, bay watch and the a team, hell it didnt have to be sat night to have good stuff on, touch of frost, only fools and horses, cracker, there were dramas on telly not people making a drama about things,

There are still extremely good dramas being made, but mostly from the states, but like i said reality tv has lost its appeal for many now.

Could not agree more, just got in to dexter and even though it's a bit old now it's compelling _iewing but it's not on prime time, that's the singing dancing wannabe shows that are, the states are making some great shows and a lot of them are re-makes of shows from here, the Sherlock show was real good, the American one elementary is real good, it's just a shame that we don't put more of that sort of stuff on and less of a dancing dog that won BGT

Oh yeah I forgot Masterchef....that too I like.

To the OP....I do think there has been some great drama programmes on lately....BBC and ITV seem to put a good few out at 9 o'clock.
