Was status quo, Christmas Eve, 1986 I think it was, at the Hammersmith Odeon…….. was great fun and a great night …….. and I am going to qualify this by telling you I really don’t like status quo….. the ticket was a Christmas gift so went with some friends, they were brilliant fun, and some special guest appearances through the night…… was more like a huge party than a gig …….. still don’t really like the music, but it is still up there as the best gig I’ve been to

Goldsmiths' Summer Ball 1967. I just googled it following a dicussion we had at Eureka this afternoon about Cream and realised what a fantastic all nighter it was, with so many great names on the bill.

As well as being a student there, I started working for the college. My lucky break into a career of working as a paid hobby!

Google that concert. It was unique.

Jealous AF. They played in Aberdeen a mile from work and I was away and couldn't make it. Very tight venue. Probably testing the water since Serge took over. They rocked apparently. Best band out there at the moment.

For me The Who. Albert Hall. Nothing will ever compare. Not even Kasabian.

There's so many for different reasons, but one that really stands out above the others was Arcade Fire at Castlefield Bowl in Manchester. If you don't know Castlefield Bowl, it's a small outdoor venue which is enclosed like a bowl hence the name. It holds about 4000 so it's pretty small for a music venue, but because of the shape of the venue it's really intimate and atmospheric. However what made the gig special was, it was only about a month after The Arena bombings so emotions were running very high as you can imagine, especially because it was a music venue too. There was this really special atmosphere in there, a feeling of love and because of the bowl shape of the venue the acoustics from the music and people singing along just heightened all your senses. It was beautiful. Then the band sang Joy Division's Love Will Never Tear Us Apart. A proper goosebumps and hairs standing on the back of your neck moment. It was a really special gig.

Edit. The capacity is about 8000, I just Googled it. Feels much smaller though because you're enclosed in. It's a great venue though.

As mentioned before, it was shortly after the arena bomb.

The atmosphere was excitement and nervous at the same time.

I've seen ACDC this year. I wish I had seen them years ago. Honestly, Brian's voice was really weak and not good at all.

Foo Fighters. Inadvertantly went to one of their last before Taylor died and it was incredible.

Plus, they rick rolled the entire audience when they brought out their special guest..

I've been to loads of amazing gigs and I don't think I could pick one as my best.

But I went to a rock concert around Cordoba in a bullring once, I couldn't tell you the names of the bands that were playing and they were all singing in Spanish.

But I can tell you that Spaniards knows how to party and that I walked in the bullring wearing all black and walked out covered in red from all the dust.

It was an awesome experience,😁

My gig attendance so far hasn't been high in number to date 🤷!

Thats a tough one - but one that always comes to mind is Slayer/Sepultura on a double header at the London Astoria, November 1998. Both bands on fire!

And supported by System Of A Down, before the guitarist decided he was the front man and fucked it all up for them.
