They should count as a cam verification.

"They should count as a cam verification."

Agreed, the person has a webcam and somebody saw them on it.

I only read the meet in person veri’s personally

Yes.... I think cam verifications are suffice enough to prove the person is real & who they say they are

I have a problem with the term veri. To verify someone is real all you need is to confirm you have met them in person or live on cam. Everything else is review.

But yes - with the current arrangement, they should

Should they not?

What does a cam veri not prove than a meet veri does? Neither guarantees anything more than that the person is real, neither guarantees they will turn up to a meet or their next meet, or how they would behave on that meet.

Honestly for me they really don’t count. I won’t meet with someone who has only been cam verified. You can do so much online these days. There is absolutely nothing to stop people broadcasting their friend on there instead of them, and no guarantees the webcam isn’t a recording of another webcam or anything at all. Even if you know the person you’re viewing is real, there’s still absolutely nothing to suggest the person you meet up with will be the same person or that you’re safe to meet this person that you are viewing. They could literally be anyone. Just because it’s a real person at the other end doesn’t mean they are who they say they are.

They can count if you want.

We’d still ignore them thanks.

Sure, it still shows they are a real person, those that don't like them will ignore them.

I guess they confirm gender, assuming someone shows enough to make that evident.

To me though, as someone who doesn't venture into the cam rooms and hasn't in a long time, I always remember them being a sea of headless bodies, heavily populated by men knocking one out over the one or two women in the room.

There's a gulf of difference to me in reading that someone met someone else face to face and that someone saw part of someone via a webcam.

I've never paid cam veris any attention at all, but others do, so that's fine. Just because I don't care for them doesn't mean others don't value them.

Perhaps they should have a different label, such as 'view'

Seem to remember they had phone verifications years ago, always thought they were dodgy.

You flagged an important point there - cam veri where the face is clearly on cam v anonymous body cams (which is clearly less useful). Maybe there should be cam veri stating face veri or non face veri.

Yes, although many would want to see it marked out as different.

I see verification as "they are who they say they are". If you do your due diligence - as we all should - cam is just as valid as anything else.
