"As somebody who runs a shop, they can’t justify keep putting up the prices, so they’re reducing the size, while boasting their prices haven’t changed. Also, Tesco are buying up all the wholesalers & killing independent corner/village shops" Unfortunately this has been going on for years it’s the retail trade in general corner shops can’t compete with larger supermarkets there used to be lots of independent butchers now unfortunately due to supermarkets and more availability of meat that’s cheaper butchers shops local in decline Support our local businesses

Lots of products, especially seasonal ones such as Easter eggs and selection boxes which are all purchased direct from the manufacturers are more expensive to buy than the likes of Tesco are retailing them at. Despite the fact the wholesalers are buying these products in tens of thousands the supermarkets are using them as loss leaders. The wholesalers now send staff to Tesco and Asda to buy the products in order to fulfil their own orders.
