Any ladies on testosterone as part of their hrt?

Wondering about any improvements with symptoms, downsides etc.

Hey, Ailsa has just started HRT with testosterone. She said she’d be happy to talk to you privately if you’d like (she doesn’t often pop onto the forums). Xx

It can be used in peri and post.

It's not often prescribed for ladies

That's because it's not approved by NICE for use by NHS for HRT. It should be though, as many more women need it than have access to it!

Hi there ladies,

I had a complete hysterectomy with removal of my ovaries which put me instantly into menopause it was horrendous.

I’m on HRT and part of that is testosterone therapy. It’s not licensed so they prescribe one off licence.

I was under a menopause clinic as I suffered so much and they prescribed it on the NHS.

I have regular blood tests, and it suits me really well.

It’s a myth that it’s just for your sex drive its far more than that. Heart health, bones and strength.

Also your mental mood.

It’s very rare a GP would prescribe it you have to see a specialist.

Happy to answer any questions privately.

Mrs M

I’m currently on testosterone as part of my hrt regime

HRT has helped things a bit and I’m currently taking testosterone religiously to see if it can help with memory loss, brain fog etc

I do think it has helped my libido which sky rocketed into peri and crashed as I approached menopause

I have had to find out a lot of things myself so happy for anyone to pm me with questions

I’m also happy to answer questions here as there are many things which aren’t talked about that happen in menopause, however, I get that not everyone is the same as me. It’s not just flushes and dryness…….

Cheers xx
