It doesn’t put me off. But I think it means something different to everyone, so I tend to try to read them when I talk to them, or I just ask straight up why they want through fab or our friendship.

The thing is with me, is personally I only want nsa, which means I don’t want a full relationship with romantic/girlfriend:boyfriend feelings.

But wanting, and sliding into finding those feelings of wanting to ‘date someone is a blurred line. I’m single, I’m open to a date if I like someone in my life. So there’s that NSA safety net to hide behind.

I think it probably started as a useful term in the swinger vocabulary. To me it would have meant let’s start something sexual but I don’t expect anything ‘relationshippy’ from you (and by reciprocity I know you won’t expect anything from me). We can continue our lives as ever but always know that meeting up will be about that wonderful, sexually charged experience with someone who is all about me for that time we spend together.

But, as is so often the case in our lifestyle, the language has evolved and been appropriated by those horny chancers who really do just want a meaningless fuck n go.

So, now, when you and I want to start something it feels inappropriate to use a term that might mean an encounter that is too emotionally disconnected.

When I was meeting people, I knew from the context of our conversation whether or not there was substance and it was worth pursuing as a casual friendship with special grown ups hugs.

Doesn't put me off, as I'm open to most situations. I used to be very rigid in what I wanted. Looking back, I likely missed out an a lot of opportunities and experiences because of that.

People and relationships are fluid and things can change, so nowadays I'm happy to do whatever really.

NSA still has a chance to become more, if the people and timing are right. Not that I would push for that (as it could cause a rift), but if it occured naturally. Then I'd be daft to say no.

A few years later I got caught in someone else's drama when there was confusion over exactly what NSA did mean and there were issues over ownership for want of a better word.

The sayings and the doings didn't match up.

For me right now it refers to fuck buddies who are content to fuck n go with no non sexual contact in between meets.

It's not something I'm interested in as I'm much happier having a fwb and focusing on the friendship as much as the benefits and that involves strings.

I think NSA means different things to different people. I suppose over the years I've had different levels of it with different people.

Some it's sex and dates and even sleepovers.

None of them I'm planning to introduce to my family but all of them respectful and with some level of friendship. Even if it is just the pleasantries being exchanged before we plan to rip each other's clothes off again.
