… but dammit… I may have found the fight to drag me back in

Jake Paul…….. vs…. Mike Tyson

We may actually see some die for clout!!

And… it’s on Netflix!!! No 50 quid sky PPV thing!!

July 20… Jerry world (that’s cowboys stadium in Dallas)

Damn I don’t like Tyson for all the past things he has done in life… but now you are making me root for him!!!

So… anyone really going to take Paul?

I've always respected Iron Mike as a boxer but as a person, very difficult to respect him. Considering his past history. But saying that, I can't Jane Paul at all.

I think it’s just a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt. YouTubers taking on boxers, 58 year old ex boxers taking on a fit 28 year old….at least AJ is fighting someone with a fighting background that in my opinion and thousands of others beat a world champion. But that saying I don’t think that the sports should cross, Ngannou should start from almost scratch in the world of boxing and build his way up but his talent will tell eventually. Saying all this I will be watching it as well as all those joke fights as I’m a fight fan, but feel that something terrible is on the horizon that will undoubtedly drag boxing’s name through the mud again, but as we know money talks.

Can I ask a question? Tyson Fury ! Is he really any good ? I know he's won everything but is it just because there is no competition? I see him in the ring and I've watched the netflix series and he just always looks like a tub of lard ! He's really tall so I think his massive reach helps him a lot, but I have also watched the match with the kick boxing guy and he in my eyes really should have won ! I genuinely think he's a serious contender moving forward! Sorry to deviate from the topic !

In my opinion, Fury is a good boxer, maybe even great, but not one of the all time greats.

What has he actually done? Defeated an aging klitchko on points and never offered a rematch. He won a trilogy against a one dimensional opponent who, while powerful would never have gone beyond mid tier in the golden 90's. He hasn't fought Joshua and has been ducking Usyk perpetually. Ngannou showed just how bad he is as Fury should've lost or drawn on points. It didn't happen because for boxing, it would have been an outrageous scandal for an outsider to come in and defeat, in his first bout, a heavyweight and lineal undefeated champion.

Fury? 40% skill, 60% hype.

Yes, I actually think iron Mike is too old..

There's a 30 year age gap.

This is actually jake's strategy...take fights with big names, but have retired or are far from their prime..

It's quite clever on his part.

As much as I think paul's image is somewhat of a clown he's actually trained seriously to be good fighter in short amount of time..

Francis legitimately beat the Linear World Heavyweight champion, in his first ever pro boxing match and if boxing wasn't as corrupt as it is, fury wouldn't have had his arm raised..

So why on earth should Ngannou start from scratch?

I think his training is more so he doesn't get steamrolled in the first 30 seconds of his circus matches than a sign of being someone to take seriously as a fighter?

Granted he was out pointed , but he didn't do as badly as I was expecting against tommy fury..

Probably his first actual real test with a current fighter.

The whole Tommy Fury thing was bizarre, their online feuding, that silliness with Fury's girlfriend..

With Paul's brother being involved in pro wrestling now, I can't help but think the whole thing was a money making scam?

What happened last night with Ngannou is what should happen to anyone who isn’t a pro boxer going into the ring with high level competition. The Fury fight for Ngannou was a fluke, Fury still won that fight though. Two knockdowns don’t make up for getting beat every other round. The Jake Paul Tyson fight will be a farce, they’ll both not be going 100% and it’ll be a decision no doubt as the same with 99% of exhibition bouts with “celebrity” vs boxer.

Your question has been well answered above mine.

I would ask another question. Was Iron Mike Tyson any good?

I would say yes. But great? Not so sure. Look at all his opponents that he sparked out (available all over the interweb)

A lot of them were not fit to be in the ring with him. 6 losses with 3 against Holyfield (2) and Lennox Lewis, then he just lost to bums (and not forgetting the upset of Buster Douglas).

Anytime Mike Tyson fought anyone of substance and quality he came unstuck.

Explosive, animalistic entertaining. 100%. A great fighter no. I honestly think Tyson Fury would have taken him with both at their best. Fury's I unbelieve strength to get up after being floored is a true wonder.

I am sure the Mke Tyson fan boys are queuing up now. You need to convince me.

Much as I cant say I like him he was a lethal boxer. At his age I doubt he'll want a long fight or want to lose to a youtuber. I don't follow boxing but from what I know he still trains people for movies... I can't see that Paul guy having enough to put him on the deck, if he does Tyson's rep is finished, even if it goes the distance with Tyson wining by decision Paul still wins.

I'm no fanboy but he has to be one of the greats. The heavyweights have always been marred by not enough opponents at the right time.

Klitschko was the longest undefeated for years I think but hardly ever gets attention.

I see your point in that you can only beat what is in front of you and when that someone was good he never produced the goods.

Klitschko had a poor era. Much like Calzaghe. Unbelievable boxer and fighter (we can forgive the occasional slap) but missed out on the golden era of Eubank (in his prime) Benn, Watson etc. Not recognised enough because of this.

I agree, the middle and super middleweight has always been awesome. The 80s with Hagler, Jeans, Ray Leonard, Duran and the guys above with Hopkins, Jones etc

Good fighters maybe, but Ngannou had already cut his teeth in combat with some of the deadliest men on the planet and not mediocre boxers. He went the distance with Fury and that proves his credentials as a fighter. Not many would have been able to do that.

Granted he's no boxer, he's never going to be after 2 fights, and that showed on Friday when he was constantly starting any combo with a flipping left hook.. AJ saw that and knew the straight punches down the middle would get there first. I dare say that wouldn't happen again, but only time will tell.

Mike Tyson is without question of of the greats, and I see your point somewhat with who he fought later on.

But Early Tyson, in his prime and not when he'd been champ for a while or got involved with all the shenanigans associated with boxing at the time would have in my opinion been able to stay with any heavyweight in history. Maybe not beat them all every time as anything can happen with the big boys. But he is most definitely one of the greatest.

His movement, power, technique, footwork, aggression and his mentally when he was younger and very hungry were sublime. Nobody moved the way he did, and was the full package.
