The same reason tea tastes better from bone china. Nobody knows

When I was a student a really cool girl used to drink beer from the bottle in the bar. Now it's so normal she'd have been more cool drinking it from a glass

Nope. Only some do. But that’s just my opinion.

Bottle certainly taste better than cans, I’ll give you that. But it definitely depends on what bears.

The same with some pints being drawn in pubs, the real ales can taste lovely one weekend, and then taste Flat the next. I suppose battle beers how much more easier for consistency.

Cider from a can tastes better.

Lager from a bottle tastes good, especially in the sunshine.

Wine from the bottle is also good. Especially on a beach.
