Not keen on them at all for the reason that they are making money on someone's misfortune.

I've noticed a few now and also that disclosing how the police caught them is giving away ideas to potential criminals to escape detection

I like them, I think they give you a good insight into people. Though they can be very sad, I watched one about Libby Squire and will be making sure my teens watch this before heading off to university as a stark reminder that some people are evil bastards and and the importance of always sticking together / not getting overly d*unk to be a victim for these evil bastards to exploit.

I can't bear them. I'd have been a rubbish peasant the days of public hangings

If they are documentaries then they are meant to be informative and educate. Informing people how detection is done and may aid the criminal I think is is a two edged sword it may aid potential criminals to be more careful but also it may also deter them. Trust me not all of the "detection" science is revealed.

As for "making money", you pay for schooling, for newspapers, books etc, and the seller makes money there.

I don't have TV of any sort, but I do like "investigative" progs like the "cold cases" and those where coroners or pathologists delve into the life of a mystery corpse and find out who why what and how etc!

I know a lot of them were just entertainment series, but I enjoyed them.

I love them, the amount I've watched I could probably get away with disposing of someone

I used to love them but now I don't ever watch them especially if kids are involved. Just upsetting and wrong
