Enjoying spending money

What's the best value you feel you can get out of your money?

For me it's new experiences with family or close friends, whether it's a short break, a holiday or doing something like having a day out in London and maybe seeing a show.

I also really enjoy attending and supporting our lifestyle venues.

All those things are a good way for me to enjoy any disposable income I may have after paying my bills.

I don't always feel that I get good value out from expensive food and drink, unless I'm enjoying that with people that are are special to me in one way or another.

I feel the prices of a meal out and drinks are quite expensive compared to the value I can get in sharing a more unique experience, like attending a festival together or renting a boat for a day etc.

How do you enjoy spending your money?

We're the same, we'd much rather have a great day out/short break/holiday, rather than buy stuff. We are light on stuff and heavy on experiences, in our house. I also like to take my daughter horse riding, when I can. Not that we have much left to spend right now!

Education and experiences are what's worth paying good money for. Some nice things like good clothes, perfume and a little accessory, too, but nothing crazy.

All over

You are right. And in the current climate that so many people are struggling to make ends meet, it is important to have little things that don't cost much for a bit of quality of life.

Travel and making memories for me. Though I do like clothes, so I spend a healthy amount on Vinted.

After household bills we spend our money on clothes, holidays, coffee with friends and meals out. We feel we get 'value' from all these experiences.

In my opinion money is only worth anything if it's used.

I don’t seem to have a lot to spare, but I love good coffee so I prefer few bags of nice quality coffee beans.

Well not sure that choosing celebs or elite footballers as role models is the best choice but.. If people need a role model and they make that choice, then you get what you get.

It's really funny how small things that don't cost a lot can bring so much joy. I recently bought one of those fiber optic lights that were around in the 70s and 80s, I absolutely love watching it change colour. It was less than five pounds and has brought me so many smiles.
