"Am I the only one who dislikes messages written in text speak and half words. I know everyone is not a potential MENSA member, but surely a little effort in spelling. punctuation and grammar would be worth it." yaaa gerrawaywiyer!

"It's been discussed a few times on here before. Some don't seem to care as they say its a swinging site not a spelling test, others say that if people can't make an effort when writing a message then they won't make an effort on a meet. Personally a few spelling and grammar mistakes I can handle as no ones perfect but the ones that are like 'Hi, how r u? Wud u lyk me 2 show u a gd tym' I hate those. They read like they've been written by a 17 year old chav. X " they probably have

"Those are exactly the ones that annoy me Andrea. I can live with the odd mistake, but, if I am to meet someone, I'll be hoping for some conversation too. The message give a clue to their ability to string a sentence together. Maybe I'm expecting too much. We posted something similar a couple of months ago and were pretty much crucified on the forum. Our argument was that our profile states no one-liners, so if someone sent one we wouldn't bother replying as if they can't respect our wishes out of the bedroom it was unlikely they would fare any better in the bedroom. We were basically argued down, stating that we shouldn't judge people on their messages as they could have learning disabilities or may possibly be dyslexic. If you can't judge on the message, and the person can't be arsed to enclose a pic (as also stated on our profile), then we would have to meet up with every person who bothered to send us a message. We are very much in agreement with you!" I think it's fairly easy to distinguish between those who may be dyslexic and people who make the odd mistake and those who really just can't be bothered at all. X

"ndili wokondwa Pardon?? " I am happy - in Chewa (sorry, was bored!) In answer to the other comment about being crucified, there have been lots of comments about how irritating txt spk is, and there are lots of options for people who are concerned with their spelling for whatever reason. I don't like crappily written messages but can mostly forgive it if it's interesting enough.

I have had some really interesting messages from people who could not spell, whether they were dyslexic or not, did not matter. I agree it is more about the content of the pm than the spelling as long as I can make sense of it, it is fine.
