People's thoughts on this statement in profiles?

Particularly when stated by those who don't have face pics themselves.

Did you not know theirs a pecking order so women rule no pic no reply, then couples no pic no reply, then guys no pic no reply and thats how it works so if you scrub up you'll do well here if not patience is the quay

Risky game if ask me! Been sent face pic in first message over the years by:

A neighbour

An ex

An ex boss and a family member. I don’t do it and don’t expect one in first message but everyone is different and I live in a small town and worked in a good few pubs in the area

If they have no face pic of themselves then ar as I am concerned that is hypocritical.

They say because of family, job, ect but the same goes for others.

I don’t state it but I very rarely reply to messages. If there’s a face pic and I like it I’d probably reply. No face pic and I probably wouldn’t.

It really doesn't bother me.

It isn't a demand for you to send a face pic no matter what, just don't message them. Live and let live.

Problem solved.

So are you saying you won't send a private face pic unless they have a public face pic?

If you think there's an imbalance in the first instance, there definitely is in the second.

But as always on here, just do what suits you and avoid anything that doesn't.

It's a request. Simple as that. If I see it and I'm interested in starting a chat with someone then I'll send one. If I'm not I won't.

Someone has to go first and if you're initiating the conversation then why not you? Plus it'll establish early doors if they're at all interested or not. Litlle point in a conversation starting, carrying on for a while and then coming to an abrupt end because there's no attraction when you finally send a photo. It's one of the reasons people often shout 'timewaster' or 'fake'.

There is always the option to have the photo deleted as soon as it's seen, but if messaging a couple I rarely hit that as it's common that both won't be reading at the same time.

I send totally vanilla face pics. No nudity. What's the worst that could happen?

Carlisle usually

Seems fine to me.

They're not asking you to have one public for everyone to see.

They're asking that if you contact them you provide an indication of how attractive you are to them.

If you don't want to do that, then just don't message them.

People get their knickers in such a twist over things that aren't even their problem.

Women get a million messages a day and don't have time to mess with lame blokes not even willing to show their faces. Sounds like a quick and easy filter system to me

I don't engage with profiles that make demands of others they don't follow themselves.

Asking for a face picture isn't a problem to me but I usually expect the one that messaged first to supply one.

I dont get it, they need to be discrete but expect full transparency. If u want face pics then be prepared to provide too

If I received a message indicating meeting up, I always ask for a face pic and send them mine. I like to see who I am chatting with before I commit with keeping in touch with a view to meeting socially. If they get a bit "shirty" and don't bother, its a no thank you from me. I want to avoid lengthy period of messaging each other to find I'm not attracted to them. No one wants to waste time.

I understand why people would want to see a face picture prior to meeting, it's the bit you kiss after all, but when people are demanding in how they ask for one, particularly if you've not had any actual contact with them beforehand, it comes across as hostile.

Your OP was about a statement in profiles though.

So you wouldn't have had any contact with them beforehand.

My profile has them, so I don't see the point in sending duplicates. Just have a peek. But then I haven't messaged anyone with that in the profile, or seen it so far.

Doesn't bother us, we don't send face pics on a first message nor do we ask for them. I do feel women and couples get the upper hand when asking for pictures because frankly they have more choice and the statement is normally aimed at men.

yes but deleting the pic as soon as you send it bugs some, you just can't please em all

Their profile their choice as to how they wish to work it

Others also have choices either to accept their criteria or not

If you're not happy with their request hit the back button and find a profile that does interest

I ask folk who contact me first to send a face picture their choice to do so or not

"People's thoughts on this statement in profiles?

…"

Cool, I know their preference if I want to send a message.

I actually prefer to be asked to send a face picture, and I’m alright with it. Because I would prefer a face picture in my box if somebody picked sent me a message, that way, I know who I’m speaking to. It’s a lot more personal.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

"People's thoughts on this statement in profiles?

Particularly when stated by those who don't have face pics themselves."

My thoughts are that they'd like to be able to decide whether or not they want to reply to the person sending the message as opposed to just the words in the message.

Second paragraph of the OP is entirely irrelevant.

Fake couples profiles biggest give away.. sending face pics with first message, or having them on profile but not photo verified.. we rarely send in first message.

Manchester (she/her)

1. The menu items on profile demands are a) take it or b) leave it

2. Their body, their time, their choice. That's all but absolute.

3. The usual part of this - which you've done - is getting mad that they demand a PRIVATE picture because they have the nerve not to have a PUBLIC face picture. How dare they ask you to show your face to one person when they haven't shown their face to potentially tens of thousands of people. oh noes!
