(Disclaimer) I'm not religious, I dont believe in God/Allah-respectfully

I have learned to forgive myself & take accountability for the mistakes n wrongs that I've done...

However, how does One obtain/attain Forgiveness???

From other people? Apologise sincerely, demonstrate by your actions that whatever you want to be forgiven for won't happen again. This is no guarantee that you'll be forgiven though, that's entirely down to the other person.

It's not for you to decide when enough apologising is enough.

You could adopt a Japanese approach to forgiveness. Keep apologising until the person you wronged says "enough, I forgive you" That does not mean you are now back on old terms. It means they want to move on. They may reach out to you and let you back into the good books, but you are forever on short notice and the tolerance for your mistakes is lower.

If you feel that it is not right and you apologised enough (the German approach to asking for forgiveness) then just move on and arrange your life in such way that you do not have contact with the person you wronged.

You can't force someone to forgive you. If or when they do, that also doesn't mean the action/words are forgotten and you can carry on as before either.

Apologise, don't repeat the mistake and accept sometimes things cannot be fixed with a simple sorry
