That's a tough question. I've liked so many for different reasons.

I'll go with Bali/Lombok. Some stunning scenery and the people are incredibly friendly

As much as I hate our weather, politics, football and chavs, I love the uk. We have some stunning scenery, fabulous terrain, countryside and coastline; we’re steeped in history and cool modern culture. Whether you like fine dining or pub grub, birthday parties or a sex club, we got it all!

And it’s right on our doorstep.

(That’ll be £50 thank you ‘Visit England’)

No contest.

So much variety of scenery coupled with friendly courteous people. Greatest asset is being under populated.

Superb budget car rental and accomodation.

Went there two years in a row. Did entire country first time and went back next time to concentrate on North Island. Only place, apart from Vancouver, where I have enjoyed visiting any cities.

How recently did you visit Vancouver? Last time I was there you had to dodge dr*g users everywhere. Huge opioid problem.

North Vancouver is lovely (and one of the most expensive places in the world to buy). Vancouver Island is one of the cleanest places I have ever been.

However, I've always been glad to be back home, so I have to say the UK is my favourite.

Afghanistan. It is spectacular with its scenery, and surprisingly green.

The majority of the people I met there were so hospitable (on the face of it).

Honestly if it ever sorted itself out it could be an absolute jewel and I would happily visit again.

But another place close to my heart is Normandy in France. The wine, cider, food, scenery. Thinking of retirement!!

I had an inkling that Vancouver had changed.

Last went there over 20 years ago and saw only a little bit of dr*g led seediness in one or two suburbs but my sister visited more recently and at one point stayed downtown where dr*ggies were of concern.

Similar indications of decline in parts of NZ now, sadly. Starts with alcohol and gains momentum..

I agree. I was there about 5 years ago. Warned off whole areas of the city. Still had to steer clear of open dr*g use on main streets, inc use of ne*dles. So sad.

I was there less than two years ago and it's not that bad, unless you venture into the six block area where all the homeless and drug addicts are.

Portland, Oregon however is another level of fucked up ness altogether
