It’s comfort food I think, sometimes we go over board with posh complicated sounding foods when simple hits the spot.

A bit of what you fancy every now and then does you good. I am a foodie so like lots of flavour and stuff but simple too. Egh and chips used to be a favourite of mine many moons back.

I'm weird, my comfort food is caprese salad, so I had that tonight with couscous, a mini mountain of it.. & I'd have chased it with pudding or cake, if I had some, but alas, don't have any!

Yep, though only because the plant hasn't died yet. Definitely not green fingered, dread to think how many basil plants have died in my presence.. I must have caprese with extras avocado or couscous, etc at least 2 times a week

Lardy cake is a traditional old Wiltshire layered fruit loaf with a glaze made with lard, sugar and spice. You hardly ever see it in the shops but old school bakers still sell it, i bought this one on the market.

What's lardy cake & please can you send me a slice?
