Aside for your “anecdotal” evidence the uk has a literacy rate of 99%, so unless fab is the 1% club I wouldn’t imagine that to be the cause.

If the messages anyone is receiving are causing a problem in any way I think the best course of action is first to block and report any abusive ones and then set message filters so that none can be received. This means you can search for profiles that fit what you want and message them .

To be fair as a dyslexic man myself I'm prone to gaffs. People don't need 100% accuracy to understand a sentence. Most sentences are understandable even with a few spelling or grammar errors. I think if someone was more bothered by the accuracy of my English over the content of what I have to say then that kind of small mindedness wouldn't be for me either. To be fair from experience on here as a single male and a couple most people are quite happy to let spelling and grammar mistakes slide when the content (which they clearly can decipher) is decent.

Likewise I think some people see text speak, language and/or style as indicative of judging someone's culture or class. Again some don't judge the content just the presumption of that person's cultural/class status. Each to their own of course but personally I prefer to see what people are saying first. I'm turned on people brains and so many people brought up in a typically cultured background and/or "professionals" aren't necessarily the brightest of people or the most interesting of people to be fair. Personally I just take people as I find them and that decision goes beyond how they put words together. Although I totally get that some people's use of language isn't always the most endearing aspect.
