My nan’s spare room.

This applies to fab doesn’t it.

If things aren’t fun for you, why surround yourselves with it?

.

People sometimes use Fab, the forums whatever when they're feeling a bit meh.

I do think if you're really not getting anything from it then taking a break is a great idea, stops you potentially becoming cynical and jaded and feeling it's not worth it.

I also think that sometimes people are feeling a bit low and it passes.

True I’m a bit flippant saying it should be fun, but equally it shouldn’t bring you drama, there’s enough drama in life.

Too many people focus all the fun on the outcome. So it’s not fun until it results in a meet. If the focused instead on the interactions, instead of the outcomes, they would enjoy it more and not tie their self esteem to the purview of complete strangers.

Totally agree, I wasn’t thinking of fun as a euphemism to naked shenanigans.

Secret hideaway in the pennines

Having given up on actively swinging, because it was getting me down, especially as I got older, now I just stick around for the banter of the forums and the odd social

I think a lot of people find it hard to accept that their expectations were unrealistic and place the blame elsewhere.

But I agree if it's not fun and not mandatory, stop. I used to go to an exercise class and when I found I was dreading it for the third week running I had a word with myself and just didn't go.

Absolutely! Fab isn't the only site I use to meet likeminded people, and as with the swinging/nsa lifestyle, variety is the spice of life....

I don't get the drama thing on fab at all! It's too much like school ground behaviour for me. I typically distance myself from people like this on fab and if I can in my day to day life.

I couldn’t agree more, old sausage. And for that exact reason I took a six month sabbatical last year - it turned out to be just what I needed.

Now I’m perfect.

I agree. If you carry on doing something that was fun and now it isn't, it's in danger of becoming an obsession. Much better to wait until the grey clouds pass.

Sometimes it becomes a bit meh but we have been on here for years so tend to just step away and forget about it for a while, can’t say we have had any drama on here

Suggested this to someone this morning - just take a break for a week or two and come back less jaded. Moaning and being down about not getting meets is not going to increase the chances of a meet - the opposite!

Agree on the expectations - it’s not sex on tap which people seem to think it is. Honestly sometimes I just want to suggest to people they should consider obtaining what they need in a different way - if you get my drift!

I think a lot of the frustration and feeling down tends to come from the lack of interactions themselves. The constant putting one’s self out there by approaching others countless times via message for example only for their efforts 99.9% coming to no avail.
