Anyone with an ounce of sense, would have spoken to her like an equal before spouting their opinion all over her.

"He was a mansplaining idiot. How she didn't shove a club up his nose I don't know. " Did she know how to play golf I. Thr first place? Frankly these days I love watching strong independent women who don't know how to do something like change a tyre struggle to do it because by virtue of being a woman they automatically think they can do it and seeing them fail.

"Have you seen the video? What do you think his end game was?" I’ve now seen it … thanks for the link *side glance to the camera One thing I know playing golf, is never try to tell someone how to hit a ball unless you’re a golf instructor and somebody has asked you. Also, did you see the follow-through of her strike, And she makes it look effortless. And what a wonderful woman, the way that she handled it, just chatting back, friendly. I bet he’s got his head in his hands now, knowing that he was telling someone 100 times better than him how to hit a ball badly.

And she wonders why I take the piss. Some of the bollox: Don't change down gears because you use less fuel. Meanwhile, a queue 6 miles long, behind is forming, while she coughs and splutters up an incline, trying to prove a point.

It’s really good feedback, and I think that’s what the guy was trying to tell her he could see what she was doing, because when you’re hitting the ball you don’t. "It’s not mansplaining. He was trying to chat her up. He would not be giving a guy tips nor an ordinary lady. I’m sure his wife or partner has given him a good dressing down. It’s like when you go for dance classes, in a group of 20 or even 40, the male instructor will only focus on that one hot lady. Same for teachers and lecturers. Or an office boss. Happens everywhere. Also, he is manipulative. Taking credit when no credit is due. " What would you define as mansplaining if this isn't? He was a man explaining to a woman (who didn't ask) how to do something she knew full well how to do and ignored whatever she said to talk over her some more.

But the amount of men that think they can comment and tell me what I should or shouldn’t be doing is unreal

If I see someone doing something in the gym that was unsafe or they looked lost or similar I’d step in and say “hey, I’m X, I’m a qualified personal trainer, can I offer you a bit of help/advice?” I’d never just assume that they wanted my help, or that they’d be better with my help. I mean if it was super dangerous I’d tell them, but if they didn’t want my help I’d alert the gym staff and let them deal with it. I never assume anyone wants my advice or help in person. And it’s not generally how women are cultures to be, whereas men are taught from a young age that their contribution is always invaluable.

I’m following a specific program because I’m injured. I don’t want or need to lift heavier right now. It’s so irritating. If they want to use it as a line to chat me up tell me how great I look or something else.

"In all seriousness, I would like to know the context. But I imagine you see it all the time, especially in sports; misogyny, just go in to any local gym etc. What do you do in a situation where you think someone is 'visibly' struggling? " If you really must involve yourself because you have expertise then ask them first it they would like to hear your opinion.

And she regularly makes these videos and posts them, as a way of explaining to her students, as well as a marketing tool. In this particular video, she was explaining how she practices her swing first in trial mode (slow and not full force) and then after she has rehearsed her moves, then the real move. Our friend saw the trial /warm up move and jumped in to give unsolicited advice.

" Ask if the person wants/needs help? People often decide I am "visibly struggling" in my wheelchair. I'm not. They don't ask. They just grab at the chair, usually from behind (where I can't see) and shove me. It's frightening. It's dangerous. And if someone does that, they WILL get a tirade from me and be told where to go. It's akin to someone running up behind you on foot and randomly being firmly pushed in the back. No-one says "thank you" for that. So. Don't assume. Ask.

" What do you do in a situation where you think someone is 'visibly' struggling? " If someone has dropped a barbell on their neck while benching, can’t get it off, and is visibly struggling then you should definitely sprint across the gym and help them without bothering to help. For anything else they probably don’t want your help, so if you feel the urge to give them advice you should ask first if they want it.

"Probably just wanted to have a conversation with a woman he saw and liked. Went about it the wrong way but as there is no knowledge about him we don't know. Likely a fick but what if. He had Autism Social anxiety Poor communication skills. And was it any better to film him all that time instead of politely or not so politely telling him to go away? Two sides to every story. But no assume thr worse and humiliate seems to be the way we are now." Many men don't take it very well when they are asked to go away. Just look at how a simple 'no thank you' or 'I'm not interested' on this very website can result in women being called ungrateful bitches and fat slags. I personally wouldn't risk that in person. Stop excusing the poor behaviour of other men.

"It was a pretty awkward watch but something im sure her and other professional athletes/coaches (and everyday women) go through all the time. He simply could have asked her a couple of questions about her knowledge or experience or when she was saying she was going through a swing change that was an ‘out’ for him to query more. But he chose not to, and then (seemingly) took credit for her improved second swing. What a dweeb " Exactly if he noticed anything it should of been her talent and asking her about her sporting background in a nice friendly way to guage the response....jealously may be the real issue, who knows, odd to say the least, very odd and condescending!

I smiled and said I might later. As I walked away she shouted after me "do your coat up, you'll feel warmer". . I'm 67 years old, I know when my coat needs doing up and when it doesn't " It’s when she gets out a tissue , licks it and starts wiping the corner of your mouth you need to get worried.
