We already know Max will Win the championship and RB will win the constructors title. Sergio is virtually guaranteed second so then it becomes a question of which driver will come third and which team will come second.

That's where it becomes interesting. Especially with the new dynamics in Mercedes, because of Hamilton's defection to Ferrari next season. We should see plenty of spicy racing between Merc and Ferarri as well as teammate rivalry within the Merc drivers and the Ferrari camps

So while some outcomes are predictable it should still be a entertaining season. Especially with Lando as a wildcard

It’s not going to be that different to last year in terms of the dominance of red bull but the battle for second will be interesting with McLaren hopefully having a full season to compete.

Looking back at old F1 races now l just dont see the excitement ,no drifting , tailsliding ,risky overtakes, yep its safer ,so no argument there , maybe copy usa model, besides a point for pole ,more points awarded for most laps led ,most overtakes from start position ,best engine telemetry, less development.This is what helped Mansell win Fi and then Indy back to back.

Because they are trying to go as fast as they can..... all that show boating slows you down, wears your tyres out and giving points for pole just means verstappen would win championship sooner. He wants to crush the entire field and he's been conditioned to since the very first time he sat in a go cart. At a foundational level, he wants to win everything. The records, wins and championships will just follow as a result. Thats not something to complain about, if you want to complain, point that finger at all others that just aren't fast enough

for me its exciting enough now to watch the 7 min highlight on you tub, couldn't sit through 2hrs of it, each to their own. In order to showboat and overtake on the outside James Hunt spent alot of his practice time wearing his tyres out to the point he knew he had enough grip to stay on the track on the outside line.ln his day Emerson Fitipaldi who had an engineering background realised if he made his front tyres smaller he could be faster on the straight. Now the cars look like they on rails , knowing the result before the start no fun for me ,breakdowns and crashes the only thing changing the result far as l can see.

that Volvo estate was fun to watch. On a side note years ago l did have probably one of the biggest slot car circuits in my loft ,500 ft , sadly no evidence of it now ,all in boxes there is a small video of my 250' circuit on my you tub channel though. Back to F1 l do like to watch the F1 parade .

Lost interest in F1 years ago after Tony Brise was killed in the Graham Hill plane crash and the death of Tom Pryce in South Africa.

Ok but the lap times were much much slower back then. Comparing apples and oranges. You are talking the golden age of motorsport. And I agree, that level of inventiveness and out the box thinking is what brought me to f1 in the first place but you can still find that kind of racing today and every weekend. They still race these cars from those days. Its just not on TV or driven by people you've heard of. But if you spend 150 million on making a car go faster the laws of diminishing returns dictates that those levels of ingenuity just don't make such a big difference anymore. Still upto everyone else to catch up. As Murray used to say. Anything can happen and it usually does. But maybe these days you watch 10 races for 1 to be a corcker. But for me, if I watch a 24hr race, it still isn't long enough hahahah

I get your love of F1 ,its commendable ,the bravery ,training ,fitness etc , bsb just as exciting, but for me watching a whole F1 race just not exciting enough ,highlights enough for me, l am impressed by the pit stops , race planning and qualifying . The highlights show all the bits l want, you just know who will eventually win in the end .

I used to rebuild and run old ones for private customers. These days watching it on TV is the closest I get. And literally have no one to talk f1 with without having their eyes rolling with boredom. So forgive me. Hope you enjoy the highlights

£25 a month. £12 for 24hr. Its nuts. But try and watch the highlights on channel 4 without stumbling over the results is the difficult bit. Plus Alex jaques is a baffoon commentator

I had a lot of people race their own F1 cars on my slot track ,we followed similar rules ,championships ,prizes ,categories, the most entrants one year was about 27 if l remember. 1 rule l remember we had was a budget cap of 20 quid a car so the younger ones could compete. Not as exciting as the real thing l know ,but great exciting fun .lm sure it will be a great race ,glad Alonso still at the top.

Not a fan of Brundle but his autobiography was an eye opener, especially about Senna being a bully. Some great stuff out there about F1, Rush ,was it ? About hunt n lauda ?

Mansell at Indy had to have a trainer/sponser ,Mario Andretti, Mansell helped Indy with lots of safety stuff ,which to Indys credit they did not ignore , yep l agree the golden years were treacherous, watch Barry Sheene stuff ,scary . I think he only raced once at Isle of Man . The Dunlop family had their share of grief. Glad F1 is safer now

Sheene did only race once on the Isle Of Man. But a lot of people won't know why only the once, his view was that it far to dangerous for a 500cc grand prix race, a view also shared by a lot of other gp riders at the time as well.

Another thing that a lot of people won't know is that Sheene's most loved track in the UK is Olivers Mount near Scarborough. Which, like the Isle Of Man is actually a road circuit. In fact during the course of his time racing, he raced at Olivers Mount more than any other track. I mention this because there is a myth put around that Sheene was scared of road racing, when in fact he was nothing of the sort.

Im glad F1 dont get fatalities now , not sure how many die at the lsle of Man tt, it sure is exciting but l dont like to watch it ,superbikes is great , Sheene was such a cool guy, smoking on the start line wouldn't be allowed now l reckon.
