Is addiction something we can't live without?

Or, does addiction mean something that results in destruction? Ie, because of an addiction it damages our lives, jobs etc...

Addiction normally means preoccupation and escalation. Especially when in the face of adverse consequences.

I don't think it's destructive.

I've arrived late at meetings, or stressed myself out trying to get there on time just because I've wanted to stroke another one out. But they've been ok.

Apart from the time I wrote off my car because I was so tired because I'd been at it all night...

No I like it but I'm not addicted. I do see some people I know and it's all they focus on and their weekends are just about sex. I like to have a healthy balance.

Addition is a strong word. I can live without sex and lockdown proved that to me. I’d hopefully not have to go on a sex break that long again. For me it’s something I love but not addicted.
