Hope this is allowed. After having a set from honey birdette delivered for the first one we have to say the experience was underwhelming

The set itself is lovely, fits great and is very high quality but the downside was the packing and how it’s delivered.

These are extremely expensive and maybe we just expected too much.

It got our brains going and think there’s definitely a gap in the market for high end lingerie where the experience from start to finish is as high as the product itself and we are looking to get the ball rolling.

Just after some feedback from others on past experience of what you’ve liked or been put off by in the past ?

I always used to like La Senza, wasn't high end, but they would always wrap in tissue and add the little scented beads.

Having worked in the fashion and Apparel industry, a lot of time and effort goes into the design and manufacture of lingerie and shape wear. Items with smaller run rates will need to retail at a higher price generally. It also depends on the manufauring process and where it comes from.

I won't bore with too many more details on the technical aspects.

It depends on what you enjoy though.

Yes we totally appreciate that, we just feel the whole experience didn’t match the item itself. 300 and it’s just thrown in a poorly made silk bag. Not individually wrapped and thrown in a bubble bag and in the post.

Maybe our expectations are too high but for us it’s an experience and not just a product

I seem to remember a similar experience to yours with one order, and quite a nice experience with a second order. Albeit this was some time ago. Might it be because they are smaller, less established in the UK market. Agree that the experience is something that has an impact and should go without saying at the price.

I buy stuff from HB often, dresses too not only lingerie, and I cannot say I have had items thrown into bubble bags. They come properly individually wrapped. Some times come in HB gift style boxes with bows affixed. The silk bags aren’t the best quality but I also don’t keep my items in them and either reuse them for other bits and bobs or give them away.

Also, if you buy in their shop they wrap things beautifully.

A handwritten note has been the loveliest detail a lingerie brand has sent along with a purchase.

Yep, for us it’s the experience, ordering waiting on it to arrive and unpacking

I realise lingerie is more personal than anything else but no matter what you buy or how much you spend, everything comes in a plastic bag or a manufacturers box. I don't think its a gap in the market, it could possibly be just an attempt to prevent theft by making everything samey.

What about providing a service where the item can be hand delivered (if possible logistically) and there is an option for the courier to wait outside so the customer can try it on and if not to their liking they are in hand to return it immediately.

Think in a ideal world it would work but with every business needing to maximise profit unfortunately the special touches often get left out
