Monthly STI reminder!

Down the back of the sofa.

It’s the monthly STI reminder!

As we’re in a group of people that had more sex than others with different partners, we should have regular tests, it’s very much part of the ethical bit of enm!

A quick google will bring you to your free service on the NHS. It’s free it’s easy, what’s not to love

Let’s be the change we wish to happen.

Post below when you’ve ordered!

Some areas are different but there will be some provision! I believe free testing is every three months! I’ve got a few months to wait till my next test!

Birmingham

Have got my kit downstairs & ready! Need to rehydrate from a fun night out (the blood samples are way easier if you’re well hydrated I find!) - I’ll get mine done today. Thanks for the reminder!

I live in the Birmingham area & Umbrella are our provider, they send a kit to your door (or elsewhere if need be) and text you the results fairly swiftly. Great service, and all for free!

I think timing of when to do the test is also important as some infections do not show up immediately

"I think timing of when to do the test is also important as some infections do not show up immediately "

Definitely.

Be mindful of the two weeks wait after lots of group play.

Just had our latest round of tests at beginning of the month.

Great peace of mind

I’m testing about every two months, also I play with others that test and have a mature attitude to sti’s, so any potential infection would be quickly picked up in the overlap!

I saw somewhere there’s a way of getting a free test any in the country on sh if you lock into the website before requesting. Not sure exactly how but worth looking at!

I’m squeamish with blood so I need to call my clinic to book a blood test. I did order a home kit but baulked at how much blood I’d have to put in the vial. I thought it would just be a pin prick needed.

I’m not a fan of the blood gathering but it does get better!

I shall have to try and order mine tonight. I have free postal testing in my area with sh24 but they have a limited amount of tests per day so it sometimes takes a few tries to get one.

Thanks for the reminder

No free postal service in this area unless you're a specfic age group. clinic, gp or paid for are the options.

That was me that mentioned that although I don't know if it works everywhere, but it works for me.

I've found my age and/or postcode screens me out and it says free home tests are not available, but if I log in to my account on this page: https://www.sh.uk/account/

Then it tells me the name of my local GUM service and there is a button that says "get tested" - clicking on that lets me order a home kit for free.

Amazing, I couldn’t remember exactly who said it. But I knew it was someone I trusted that it was true!
