My only question about hotel people, especially the safety thing, if you meet someone on a dating app, and after one or two dates you wanted to invite them back to yours or they wanted to go back to yours, does that mean like… you’d say we have to book a hotel?

(This only applies to poly people or single people so monogamish couples I don’t need your answers. Noah Fence.)

I don't think it's more safe to meet in a hotel.

When I get the other person's address I set up an email to send it to a close friend a day later. When I get home I cancel it before it sends.

If I meet in a hotel that person could be anyone. You don't need to give a hotel your actual address. You don't need to give a hotel your card details. You literally have no paper trail to who that person is.

You have to have photo ID for the hotels I've been to, and they have cctv cameras. Not saying a stupid person still wouldn't try something nefarious, but I think they're more likely to want to meet at the victims home.

It can complicate things. If arranging a meet becomes complicated it can put me off, meets should feel fun and easy.

In my own experience most people have already booked a hotel before contacting me. “We have a hotel booked, would you like to join us…”

I absolutely would suggest a hotel even on dating apps. No one is coming to my house in the early stages of anything and I like hotels. Neutral ground etc. I feel much safer in a hotel to be honest.

When it comes to dating the Ideal is obviously someone with their own place because lots of hotel stays get expensive!

Yes, I don’t necessarily expect the other person to book the hotel, but I do let them know it would be a hotel we go back to if that’s the decision we make a few dates in. Even in the moment, it’s easy enough to book a hotel then and there. Rare are the times that I’d go to theirs or have them at mine so early on. I have a nesting partner and we are KTP. If we are more than a few dates in, or are partners coming to mine or going to theirs is an option. Occasionally, we could still do hotels too just for fun.

I feel that’s more dangerous, not only are you not seen or somewhere public but they will forever know your address. They could be stalkers and you could never get rid of them.

I meet at coffee shops or pubs. If fun is on the cards, I prefer clubs, as there are people nearby if there was a problem. I wouldn't feel safe using a hotel and have to know someone well to invite anyone back to my house.

I had a guy turn up months after meeting me, just as I was serving Sunday lunch to family. He explained he didn't have my number and couldn't find me on Fab anymore !

So club meets are my safe place now.
