Usually the best way to get around the extortionate drop-off parking charges is to use the long-term car park as a drop off where you get 15 mins for free.....check on the Airport's web site which of their car parks provide this, downside is that the travellers have to get the shuttle bus to the terminal....so allow enough time.

I flew from Gatwick on Tuesday and returned yesterday. Used a parking app, £15 for three days at the Holiday Inn in Three Bridges and £2.90 each way for a five minute train ride. Even Gatwick"s drop off fee is £5!!!

Or drop them off at the staff bus area.
