Guys do I need your help or what

Had a fantastic night out in Manchester the other night and parked on a retail park

Only when I returned I have a parking ticket from euro car parks. Annoyed to say the least I begin to look round for a sign that says I can't park there!!

Eventually find one very small one that says you can't part when the shops are closed after 8 pm

So after looking at my ticket I can't see an amount that I have to pay anywhere on the slip

Can anyone advise if I can getvoutcof this ? Or does the fact there is no figure on the ticket invalidate the ticket ???

Thanks for your help guys

Ignore it

It's a private parking company and it's not enforcable. The 'ticket' is little more than an invoice so the worst they'll do is threaten to try and collect but most never do. Too much hassle and cost to them to chase down every so called 'ticket'

Only parking tickets issued by traffic wardens on behalf of a local authority are legally enforceable.

Legally they cannot 'fine' you ridiculous amounts. They can charge you to cover their losses but thats all. Like everyone else has said, ignore it.

On monday I would phone up your local

Council and even go into your local police station and ask their advice if your breaking the law not paying it. It might be a scam that someone has been doing in your area

I charge a consultation fee and cannot give free advice

..but because i like you. I shall.

You can always try and write a letter to the company who fined you to say that there was no such sign that was visible. Had that sign be visible and placed within a suitable place you would not have parked there.

Again. This is a private company. So, the only worry i would say is where they may carry a debt action. Try and recover the money from you by issuing proceedings - but this is expensive (for both).

...so for now. Tell them to FUCK OFF!!

Its not a criminal offence but a civil matter and as others say ignore it. If you contact the company it will make them more determined. As a side issue whilst you will get letters etc ignoee then they will in time offer you reduction in charge to close it off.

Unless a bill is over 250 quid its not cost effective for companies to go to court

if and when they get in touch they may try scaring you by threatning court action and saying they have pics of your car. Tell them you have a pic of their silly sign.

It's not enforceable don't contact the ticket issuer as this will only give them your name and address. Bin any correspondence that does arrive and the same advice to anyone who gets tickets of any private company.

Don't tell them anything - don't contact them at all!

Ignore anything and everything except for a court summons (which you are not likely to get).

We had one about two years ago. Sent us escalating threatening letters about 4 times - court action threats, blah blah blah. Ignored every one - nothing happened and no letters since.

In my own little world

I used to work in parking. It's quite right to say that only landowners, i.e. local councils or their appointed representatives can issue tickets.

In your case you are on private land, and therefore it is unenforceable. DO NOT under any circumstances acknowledge the company pursuing the fee. That is an admission you were there, and they will not give up chasing and then threatening you. It is totally unenforceable and they are praying on the good natured amongst us.

There are specialist websites but one of the easiest to understand is the section on the Martin Lewis site.

Ignor them, and they will eventually go away. Might have to be thick skinned as they will threaten to take you to court, ccjs etc, but if you don't acknowledge, especially in writing, they have no way of doing so.

Hope this helps

"money saving expert site has all the info you'd need to put your mind at ease about ignoring it."

I ignored one at Moto motorway services, had a lip, then had food n coffee, overstayed 2 hr free.

Was sent several Parking Notices, just ignored them.

They can't make you pay without going to court, winning, getting a court order, then an enforcement notice, then the bailiffs.

If they start hassling you write to them explaining the legal reasons why their ticket is unenforceable and if they continue to contact you you will consider it to be threatening with menaces and will counter sue. Until then, do nothing. It is not illegal to park in a supermarket car park after it has closed as a lot of lorry drivers on tacho do it all the time.

Middlesbrough

As others have said have a look at Moneysaving Expert. These companies make their tickets look like official council ones and use similar initials to ensure they get their money.

It is up to them to prove who was driving the car (the registered owner is not liable|) as it the driver who had a contract with the land owner. Ignore them!

As others have said, ignore this 'ticket' it is totally unenforceable. You will no doubt get threatening letters but ignore them all. These companies pay DVLA for your address details from your registration number. I have always thought this to be very wrong but its been going on for years.
