I would settle for a period apartment around Nollendorfplatz in Berlin.

Great coffee / cafe culture, great little market, 4 u-bahn lines to everywhere else in the city. 10 minutes walk from the biggest department store in Europe and 10 minutes from several bars of a somewhat sordid nature

For biking I would have to say closer to home the lake district or peak district, I have had some fun in both of theae areas on the R6.

For gatting away from it all the Isle of weight or Isle of man, just not during the TT weeks.

Oh yes, it's the 3rd time I have been. Las Ramblas is amazing day or night. There is a brill market just off there, spent a fortune in there last October

Just a little note about Barcelona. I have walked on the grass of camp nue, now I'm not a football fan and the stadium was empty but you could still feel that it's somewhere special

Torquay

My little bit of Spain....Tarragona, is my idea of heaven on earth, with Barcelona just a short train journey away too....

Full of culture and a rooftop garden that overlooks the Roman Amphitheatre.

It really is, and the train journey to Barca is only 50 minutes and costs about £12 return....

The people of Tarragona are as nice as I have met anywhere as well.

Capri & the Amalfi Coast - must be the most beautiful place on earth. Cold winter days in the industrial English Midlands are mollified by the memories of it.
