I don't mean with aging or untold disease, just simply live forever?

My life changing event gets ever closer.

A cancer cured is a second life.

There’s a certain beauty in knowing our time is finite though.

I used to be terrified of dying. I’d lay awake as a kid worrying about it.

I’m not so bothered nowadays. I must have been to over 500 sudden deaths and I’m pretty immune to death now. I’ve seen it in every imaginable form and some you probably can’t imagine.

It comes to us all, just live your life as best you can because it’s gone in the blink of an eye and the world very quickly forgets you.

Apart from a curiosity of the future, no. Imagine everyone you’ve ever known and loved - family, friends, partners - all die of old age and you have to carry on.

Maybe the joy of being the only 99 year old on fab…

Paper Town Central, Essex.

He'll no.

But it would be nice if the memory of me lived on for a long time though.

Wouldn't it be fun if we had a use by date printed on our body somewhere?

Who'd try and find it, and, who'd carry on through life not wanting to know it?

"No, i accept I'm now on the count down - 30 years maybe? "

This thought depresses me hugely. I think I fear aging more than death - not being able to do all the things I like to do.

OP, I think I'll have a sip of that elixir of eternal (relatively youthful and healthy) life after all.

I was so sorry to read that. I can't even begin to imagine how awful that must be for you. If anything were to happen to my girl I would be utterly devastated.

I'm not scared of death though I do worry a little about how I die. I don't want to have anything that might affect my mind. My mum had Alzheimer's and died just over a year ago now. They say that people with Alzheimer's die twice, and it's true. First their personality is stripped away but by bit until they're basically an empty husk and then, eventually, the body follows. If I ever get an Alzheimer's diagnosis I will take myself to Switzerland and end things on my own terms.

I think its great in principle but what would he the point after the first 150-200 yearsbyou would have seen everything happen multiple time. History does tend to repeat its self quite a lot so you wouod have experienced everything life can give you and it would be boring

I would absolutely. Imagine what you could do achieve. Simply mould shape humanity to your ideal

If a century or two fucks uo never mind just play the long game and try something different again

Sure people will die you love / like but the cycle will just keep on and you will continually make new ones every century

Being perpetual gets a thumbs up from me

Yep. This.

There isn't enough time in a single lifetime to experience all the things I'd love to do, places I'd like to see and people I'd like the chance to piss off at some point.

Immortality would be epic.

Plus I wouldn't ever have to worry about climbing ladders or flying ever again.

Problem with immortality would be ageing. Couldn't think of anything worse than just existing in a constantly deteriorating body for all time.

Also loving those you love, over and over again would be horrific.

Live your life now, enjoy everything while you can, no one knows what's around the next corner
