There is a direct relation to staff pay cuts to pay for subsidised meals for MPs is there? Do you have evidence of that?

Under the proposals staff would be paid for 50% of overtime worked at time and a half.

They would then receive a day and a half time in lieu for each day of overtime.

Which I would take in my current job, But not if I was on £8:50 an hour

This story is also being run in the Mirror and it's not as clear cut as staff wages being slashed to fund greedy MPs subsidised meals.

The Lords' staff handbook requires that ALL staff are paid for the work that they do. What is being proposed is that to reduce costs of staff working hours when the restaurants are not open is necessary to reduce overall catering costs. The proposal states that staff will be paid for 50% of the overtime they do at T+1/2 and for the other 50% of overtime they work they will get one and half days off in lieu for each day of overtime worked. Lieu days are paid days, so they are not losing out at all.

However, they are being asked to take a 1% wage rise for the next three years while their managers get 5% - and that is wrong.

After seeing a member of the house of commons banned from the cheap bar for fighting.

They should close the place down and revoke its license to sell alcohol anyway.

Place of ill repute since Oliver had his day.

I used to know someone who worked there in security, he said it was 90p for a pint. They could also buy cheap fags.

It is the only place of work that is exempt from the smoking ban as well.

Duty free prices for those that make the rules, and smoke all you like as well.

Your employer has the right to change your contract if it wishes to, as you have the right to accept the new contract or not. What it cannot do it change your working practices without changing your contract.

Refuse the new contract and make then put you on the dole.

Saves wasting tax payers money on cheap bars for dishonest folk to abuse.
