no offence but it’s like the town the 70’s forgot! Plus it’s the coldest place I have ever watched a football game!

If it ain’t snowing… that’s an improvement!!!

. Yes if anything Shaw will be a bigger loss as we have tried 3-4 players this season at left back and let’s be honest none have convinced. When we have play Man City off the top of my head next week I think Foden or Silva on the right wing will have a field day against whoever we decide to play at left back Lindoff , Ambrat , Dalot , AWB it could be a 5-0 or more.

sorry to correct you but it was Geordies who got 8 , Villa only got 5 , as did Burnley , Arsenal and Brighton (twice)

But be a little cautious Man City only won with 88th min goal , Liverpool won with 2 goals where VAR was sleeping as they were with a Sheffield United penalty , Villa got a point at Villa with a equaliser on 90+7 minutes , while Spurs came behind from 1 down to win 2-1 with goals on 90+8 & 90+10

My prediction Sheffield United 2 Arsenal 0 , with celebrations long into the night in the blue half of Manchester and the red half of Liverpool

Well, that went well....not! If matches lasted 75 mins we'd be in a European spot. I've lost count of the number of goals we've conceded in the last 15 mins.

On a different note I took in Bromley v Halifax in the Conference. I love a bit of non league but a very scrappy match. At least Bromley won.

Saw a motd interview with Sean Dyche last year. He said every manager loves a one nil. His brand of football is too safe to stay in the prem. If Everton do drop down, they'll be straight back up as the championship teams do one nil football worse.

Surprised you didn't leave with dem blades at half time ,, perhaps if you knew that the 2nd half was going to be Arsenal parking the bus in fear of a come back and only achieving a 1-0 2nd half victory against the bottom club with a lucky break away goal you would have done

As a neutral it is good to see a 3 horse race for The Title , I have always thought Manchester City but at the moment the top 3 are playing so well it really could go to final day with all 3 with a chance of being champions .

Anyway forget all that Premier League stuff , proppa footy tonight Barton v Goole North East Counties League "Premier" Division

Who wins the title…..

Even as an arsenal fan.. I am glad we are the “under the radar” team at the moment!

Liverpool and Arsenal both have Man City PTSD!!! We have played this dance before!!!

City for me till otherwise prove

. Although Arsenal are under the radar at the moment the fact is if they beat Brentford tonight which I expect them to do and tomorrow Liverpool v Man City is a draw which they way both teams are playing is not impossible then Arsenal will be on the radar.Personal prediction from me Man City will beat Liverpool tomorrow and go on to win the Premier League

Good to see 3 teams genuinely contending for the Premiership at this stage of the season, although with 10 games still to go it is too early to call it.would prefer it to be Arsenal, have no issue with it being Citeh, dread the media love-in if it’s the Scousers.

Anyway, anyone who is anyone knows that the real drama is about who finishes 7th and gets to enter the Europa Conference League (the only competition worth winning - unless we win the Europa League, which then becomes the other competition worth winning).

Hopefully they get drubbed next Sunday as well (although highly unlikely). Good luck against Ajax on Thursday .

It might not be 7th…. Bear with me here!

Because England could get 5 automatic champions league spots….. plus if West Ham (or Brighton but they are 4-0 down) win the Europa league…. And villa win the Europa conference, but don’t end up in the top 5….. okay.. stretch but I am cooking here….

You would end up with 6 in the champions league, plus 3 in the Europa league, which means that the Europa conference place could come from a team potentially finishing as low as 10th…..

Phew… I am done!!!

The “5th champions league” spot is going to need some explanation … here is my shot at a TLDR version…

Right… welcome to the world of the UEFA coefficient!!

To determine who gets what spots it’s done over a 5 year rolling period of how well teams from your country do.. how far they get in each competition ect ect….

Top 5 associations each get 4 champions league spots….England in the 5 year rolling average is ranked 1… yey!! Go the premier league!!!

Now.. an extra champion league place will be given out to the top 2 nations who teams do best specifically in the current (23/24) season season

At the moment England is currently ranked 3rd… behind Germany (2nd) and Italy (1st)

But because we have most teams still left into the moment there is a big chance we’re could overtake both of them… (if there is ever a good reason to root for West Ham against Freiburg that may be the only one!)

Sadly the new Champions League format has even less to do with 'Champions' than it previously did, and that was very little. Basically it's a fudge by EUFA to ensure that any big club that has failed to qualify gets in on the basis of it's past record. It's all to nullify yet another threat of a breakaway super League but in my view yet another nail in the coffin of the modern game. I fondly remember the days when the actual Champions of each European country played each other in a knockout competition.

. I agree the new format is less to do with champions. As a young boy watching the European Cup final in 1978 Liverpool v Club Brugge 1979 Nottingham Forest v Malmo. I now can’t see a time where the champions of Belgium or Sweden will get to the knock out stages let alone a final. My ideal scenario would be to go back to what we had before where it was just the champions or if not that then champions and runners up only

Actually… with the new format it’s not as bad as it could have been…

It’s just the group stage that has been tweaked…into 1 big league

The TLDR version is this… teams will be split into 4 pots of 9… teams ranked 1-9, 10-18, 19-27 and 28-36

You basically play 2 teams from each pot to vary the difficulty of teams played, you still can’t play a team from the same league at this stage…

8 games, 4 home 4 away .. one big table, top 16 from the 36 go into the knockouts

. Sorry Fabio from what I’ve read on a UEFA website the top 8 of the 36 teams in the revamped Champions League go through to the round of 16 and the teams finishing 9-24 will have play off matches so that another 8 teams can join them in the round of 16.In a way it’s good in the sense it could give a team from a small European nation a chance to make the round of 16 on the flip side it will probably give a top European nation a 2nd chance to get another team into the round of 16.At the end of the day this is what has been agreed and as a football fan I hope it works out but ultimately it’s about keeping the big 3 European Leagues happy and money.

I think the supporters of all the English clubs chasing a European spot this season can bow down and give thanks to WHU tonight. According to the BBC sports page earlier today, if we beat Freiburg tonight it would go a long way to helping English clubs gain the extra Champions League spot on offer for coefficient points. We scraped through, so England are now in the driving seat to get that spot.

With the ICF’s links to Lazio, Roma would be murder (quite possibly, literally). Got to get past one of the best teams in Europe first and have to really hope that they are focused on winning the Bundesliga and losing that Neverkusen tag. Sad thing is, we were out there in August, so it’s not even a new ground for some of us.

Cheshire Liverpool Manchester

Great game.

I never felt more like singing the blues. When Everton didn’t play and Liverpool lose! You got me singing the blues!

. When you were 2-1 up and you had a breakaway 5 v 2 if you score then it’s game over.

I said the same, poor decision making and we seemed a bit too laid back which you can't do in any game between us and your lot..

. Yeah poor decision making on test particular moment. We hung in there and almost won it in 90 minutes when Rashford had a good chance. Now we play Coventry and Mark Robbins the man who kept Sir Alex in the job back in 1990.

Funny how it goes..

You should at least get a losers medal in the final when the best team is Manchester win the cup..

But if you do stop them all's good..
