Alpha or Sigma Males

Men who ask themselves "am I part of the problem?" is something Sigma Males ask themselves and if so, might want to adjust his approach. Alpha males bludgeon their way through their lives and it's no wonder if they find it such a slog.

I've just had an exchange with a man who asked me if I can meet now (Monday lunchtime), when it clearly states on my profile that I ONLY meet on Saturday or occasionally Friday evenings.

When I suggested he may do better to read profiles so don't need to ask pointless questions, his response was "wow"...

All of this Alpha, beta, sigma, gamma stuff really gets under my nob. People don't know people from the back of their hand, so to impress an A, B, S, G personality profile onto someone after a (single) message is either an acute sense of peoples state, giving people too much credence, or subscribing to bollocks you or they don't understand.

Yeah, people have different traits, yeah people are attracted or put off by what they see or perceive but a message is a message - you were online, you could have been horny, he shot his shot and you swatted it away.

People love to label i think - hey… im an alpha male as an opening msg should be an instant block as no true alpha views themself in that way. best type of guy to be is an open and honest one - a touch of humility goes a long way too and the ability to hold a conversation and eye contact. Add a little respect ( youll be singing that now!!) and the rest is down to fate…

Haha.

I agree, these "Alpha" males who honestly believe they are somehow the top of the pecking order and god forbid if they can't perform on the night !!

Such sad, delusional men.

My husband was given a bit of advice as a young man, something like this..

"When you believe your own bullshit, you are really in trouble"

Just be nice, kind, open and smile, tend to go a long way.

Don't be something you're not or what you think others want you to be.

Wtf does all this stuff mean , I could google but I'd never be so cool to attempt sentences, which never goes well anyway.

If they state that they're alpha, I like to ask them what makes them that. Answers are usually amusing or they're in no way "alpha" at all.

Every other msg I have to ask someone to read the profile

Interesting posts, thanks guys.

Well in terms of message exchanges, there were several, not just the one followed by my swipe. Each reply from him was a duck-n-dive so he painted himself into a corner and the "wow" was his last possible word.

There are people who don't like labels, but they do persist because some people find them useful. It's made me decide I don't like bombastic people like him who lacks humility.

The term 'alpha' makes my skin crawl.

It just suggests someone with no emotional development to me.

I think people started using 'sigma' because they realised they didn't meet the alpha architype but didn't want to be labelled as 'beta'. It's all very silly and smells of insecurity.

I’ not sure Alpha males is the pinnacle of who they could be. Maybe Uber male is better. Or Ultra male.

I’d definitely want to be an Ultra Male!

Surely you can’t better that!
