What have you done of late that made you feel proud?

I spent yesterday afternoon fighting for my colleague at work who has been bullied and has been put in a farcical disciplinary process as part of an agenda to get rid of them. And whilst I’m getting backlash it’s so unjust I had no choice to stand up and get involved whatever the cost to me. And for that I’m trying to be proud of myself rather than worry about the consequences.

What’s made you feel proud?

It’s a feeling I struggle with a bit as I worry saying I’m proud of something like this is arrogance and virtue signalling (maybe it is a bit, but I need a bit of a boost as I’m pretty stressed out, so I’ll accept it is attentionseeky).

I wish someone had helped me when being bullied. It’s really something to do what you’ve done. Maybe there needs to be some staff training for those giving backlash.

My proudness comes from. Pushing myself today at the gym resulting in the best yet hardest gym session since starting a regime of changing body shape losing weight and getting fit.

That’s definitely something to be proud of. I need your discipline, I’m teetering on the edge of trying to commit to a gym routine and investment in my weight loss and health but I keep feeling so defeated about it! I’m going to use you for inspiration. Thank you.

they do this to experienced and therefore expensive teachers. they break their spirit and then manage them out of a job. Good for you for standing up for your colleague. I hope you don't get blowback for it.

A report for a couple of people in a different department who were struggling collecting data and seeing a summary of it, that made their day and said it proves a process that had been happening in the last few months. They literally squeeled when they saw what it could do and how easy to update each month.

Virtue-signalling is not entirely self-interested if it promotes virtues like integrity and selflessness. If it motivates others to act in accordance with such values, it's worth drawing attention to your own actions.

I believe the debate on whether a truly selfless act is possible was definitively settled in the case of Phoebe v Joey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DowJfUmlzeI

Are you linked into NADSN? Super network for supporting disabled staff networks with the large portion of membership being college/education establishments. May be worth checking out?

This is amazing! Too many stand back in these situations. Hope the outcome is positive

I wrote a recommendation for one of our students on placement, encouraging her to apply for a bank staff position at my Nursery. She is a young single Mum on benefits and wants to be out of the situation....

She will also be a gifted practitioner but she has no confidence, she tells me she is bullied at College by the 'cool kids' but she wants to continue to finish her Early Years Educator qualification....I had a chat with her tutor about the bullying and that is now being dealt with.

Anyhow she applied and got the job, scary interview process with HR but she smashed it, I got a phone call of her crying, wondered what the hell was happening but she was so happy.

Feels so good to support these students, especially the vulnerable and now she can hold her head up high when facing the bullies in the class knowing her hard work is paying off

Also proud that I helped someone close with a financial situation they were struggling with. They'd got themselves in debt and issued with warrant of execution, I dealt with the debt company on their behalf and paid it off for them. They aren't mentally strong and had got themselves in a mess, glad they felt they could come to me

I'm proud of sticking up for me.

I have been owed money since June last year. I've repeatedly asked for it, even scheduled agreements it either gets brushed off, ignored, diverted onto something else or he can't afford it. But some things point to lack of affordability not being the case .....

So I'm taking him to small claims court. I've spent most of the afternoon sorting through the countless WhatsApp written and voice messages of evidence and writing my form. I won't be made to feel worthless, insignificant and unimportant any more. I am worth being paid back. It's just something you do, you honour your debts.

My daughter. Over the past few years she has struggled with her gender identity and it was all consuming for her. Recently she has started to accept who she is and really settled down into life and being comfortable. It's been a while since I have seen Charlie be genuinely happy in her everyday life.

As I write this I'm waiting for a call to pick her up from town as for the past couples of weeks she has been for nights out. Something I didn't think she would ever do due to the problems she has had.

Watching her personality grow and being more confident has made me incredibly happy and proud of her.

Yep, you are the only limit to your own success. I'm trying to put myself near the front of my priorities from here forward.

I'm not going to take shit now and I want to start doing things for me not just the family. I sort of started doing that last year.... I started to flutter along, this year I want to soar

Last year was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes it shook me and I totally changed my diet and got back to excercising. I’ve bought my blood sugars down to such a point where technically I’m no longer diabetic. Going to carry one with new diet as I feel so much better only issue is as I lost over a stone in weight none of my trousers fit need a belt to keep them up.

Elderly lady was driving the wrong way down a one way street, cars just beeping and hurling abuse towards her, clearly extremely startled and distressed as I went over to explain why and her mistake I ensured the other drivers gave her some time and space to correct herself and made sure she was of the right state and mind to continue. Boils my piss that society has developed this lack of empathy and understanding so many just self obsessed, I can’t imagine the same people giving her the abuse would be happy if it was their Mother, grandmother, wife or friend in that situation. So although yes I did feel proud for helping I was extremely disappointed I even had to get involved in the situation.
