Newcastle and Gateshead

First one post World Cup starts tonight…

Starts with a replay of the World Cup final… that should have been… France vs Ireland

So I suppose this is for the position of “3rd best team in the world “ ( no.. I have having none of this “but England won the 3/4 game!!!”)

So… lots of changes this season.. and if they play well gives them a jump start towards lions selection in 18 months time!

So… which teams have ya got this week.. who ya got for the championship…

And I shall be around as per normal for all of your irreverent observations… if you have been round long enough.. you will know my go to’s are my hatred of chippy no.9’s , handsome French players.. and my love for chunky boys in the backs!!!!

Scotland for us tomorrow.

I’m not predicting anything. I also won’t be watching as whenever I watch a Welsh Rugby or Football match, we lose.

It's Frances to lose, Ireland then England and Scotland for 3rd place. I actually think Scotland have a chance this year to go top but they just cant string a game together under pressure. Wales and Italy for the spoon. Last year's tournament was cracking I just hope the games are as exciting as last year and the world cup.

Tough first game for Wales as Scotland look dangerous at the moment and have a point to prove after the World Cup early exit

England fan..

I'm going for France (home advantage)

Italy with a narrow upset over a changed side. Yep you read that right.

Wales (home advantage)

I can just see Ireland shading a French side without DuPont.

England should scrape past Italy.

Scotland, if they hit form, should beat a changed Welsh side.

I think Ireland may get over the line tonight. One man doesn’t make a team, but when that man is Dupont I think it’s a huge blow for France.

Thought I’d jump to this one since part 1 is full

That duhan tackle… hate it

It’s technically is a horse collar tackle, it is a high tackle but because it’s shoulder rather than neck you get away with it

It’s an absolute knee and ankle killer though

Loving the horse collar/ seat belt tackle chat…

Just as a point of safety it was legal when I played American football.. it’s now banned (it’s a personal foul penalty)

But yes… it’s an absolute knee and ankle killer

Definately on the ground. I get that the ref won't overturn the on-field call without a definitive from the TMO, but we could clearly see it grounded...

The TMO and the ref were both looking at each other to bail them out of that call….

The TMO talked himself into giving the try.. then talked himself out of it… and the ref was about to change his decision until the TMO went… na your call mate!!
