I am going to start my own business this year.

Screw having a boss (not screw the boss, that is different) I am going to BE the boss!

I have no ideas, no skills and no starting capital... but that won't stop me!

So over to you FAB, what business should I start this year?

My advice would be, stay where you are and don't do it. I have run my business for the last 20 plus years. Its hard work and long days. Forget having time to your self at weekends. If your not on the tools working you are sorting out paperwork or meeting new potential customers. It takes over your life.

I looked at drop shipping last year, found a support consultancy to help me get started.

Worked out I'd need around £7,500 to get cracking.

It looks like a good opportunity.

Look for posts on local social media "asking for.." type posts. A lot are plumbers, electricians, mobile car maintenance. Obviously this will require skill-up training with qualifications at the end. A job during this will be needed therefore.

This is the actual answer. Do anything charge say £100/ hour for it, then outsource to someone somewhere else for £25/ hour. Nice income, no work.

Id suggest something IT related and find a tech wizard in India

There's a pretty lucrative market in "fixing up that shit" when stuff is outsourced overseas. (not necessarily IT, not necessarily India)

There is a market in this age of creating a smaller carbon foot print for selling flights/seats on small private jets as many of them fly a client to a destination and then return to their home country empty.

You’d have to do a bit of research and make a few connections but it’s starting to happen. And it’s something you can do from home with only a laptop and mobile phone.
