Hello all hope you’re all good!

Has anyone got advice on tattoos so if u had a big back tattoo then lost fat would it look different?

And if u have any excess skin.

Any change in skin elasticity can affect tattoos, so yes, weight loss may have an impact.

It's more obvious in arm, chest or leg tattoos than back in my experience, but the results will vary. Gradual weight loss has less of an impact than rapid, such as gastric bands and other surgery.

As a tattooist it depends on how much weight you lose. A couple of pounds then no difference. Large weight loss then most definitely as the skin is less pliable. Also weight gain or muscle gain changes them and extends the work

Yes, tattoos do change as your body changes.

If you get bigger your tattoo will stretch unpredictably. If you get smaller your tattoo will shrink unpredictably.

My back is covered. I had it done when I was very muscular with huge lats. I'm now a lot slimmer. It looks fine still, it has mostly shrunk down proportionally
