A question for all the fab nudists

Jump to newest

So I saw, was curious and gave it a go in my room when I was in my teens and really enjoyed the freedom it gave. As I got older, I learnt more about it and found out about a relatively nearby area by the sea that allows it. So I went down there and got naked while there were other nudists around. It was daunting and nerve raking making my way there, but once I was there I felt super anxious to get the clothes off, but did it and it was so liberating.

My question to all you nudists here is, what is it about the nudist lifestyle (or at least doing nudism when you can) that intrigued you when you first learnt about it? And what is it that you enjoy about doing it?

Just being free from textiles is the best feeling ever. And having the sun on my naked body. I’ve never blended sex and naturism which some do. It’s just the feeling free and chilling that way that I love.

I only started stripping off about 10 years ago but my husband has always enjoyed nudism. I have him to thank for it.

Swimming naked is the best! And have to agree it really does put us all down to basics.

Had some lovely chilled afternoons with complete strangers all sat on a beach together naked, drinking and chatting about just anything. It’s very liberating yet, feels so normal.

I’m glad I did! Spent so many awkward days being the only one wearing a bathing suit on nudist beaches. Talk about odd one out.

It was only one day I had the bottle to stand up and take off my bikini to put my dress on to leave the beach, when a lady was walking up the beach and did a double take then turned round and walked back. Something about that strangely made me rethink my days on the beach. Maybe a feeling of empowerment of my own body. No idea.. but it did it for me.

I love being naked, as many have said.....the freedom it provides, the feel of the sun / elements on my body, to be as nature once intended.

It's also exciting, and nerve wracking. To mentally break from the social, traditional, religious taboos is liberating. I find it's also helped with my body image and self confidence.

It's just bloody awesome!

Yes. I see that people (in general) who don't know/haven't learnt about nudism/naturism much, have certain and/or common assumptions and misconceptions about what the lifestyle is all about. Sure, some people that go to nudist beaches or other certain places where a lot of people can be naked together, may participate in sexual acts with one another, but that isn't actually the real ethos of what nudism/naturism is all about. As someone has stated above, nudism/naturism and sex are two different things.

I don't think British fully understand naturist life style unless you go france and see how it's a family thing

You often see 3 generations of same family together

Talking to then they say teenagers often go away from life style then come back once grown up

For me it's mainly about freedom and being comfortable. When it's warm I don't like the feeling of clothes. I like to feel the elements on all of my skin when outdoors, I just feel more grounded and connected with nature. And I really don't like the feel of swimwear in water and see absolutely no sense it what so ever, it's daft. And I've just never been abashed by my own nudity or that of others. It's just not a big deal to me. I wasn't brought up naturist BTW, just the way I've always been. It was so refreshing in recent years to discover places and people who are the same. Likewise Mrs Misfit is of the same mind.

I also much prefer humans in the buff. You generally find naked people are so freindly, humble and human. I think clothes puts up barriers between people and dives them. When you are all naked you come to each other very much as equals. Your humanity and vulnerability completely exposed. I think this sets a more equal and human energy, brings you closer together quicker. It just feels nicer way to live and interact.

Even still tho, it takes courage to strip off for the first time around others when brought up in a society that see's nudity as something somewhat taboo.

Many moons ago a couple invited me to Bristol Garden Spa in Brighton. That was the first experience of naturism and it felt so natural. 20years on and I finally ventured to a Studland naturist beach and it was amazing. Nothing nicer than the sun on a totally naked body. This year I'm hoping to get to Cap d'agde. It's just the freedom and being as you were born with nature, nothing sexual about it for me but i do enjoy seeing the how everyones body is different. I now hate wearing clothes and go commando when I can.

Yep exactly that, left at the boat yard past redcliffs ( recent landslide) keep going till you see lots of flesh. It’s usually middle aged or older men stood posing on the rocks but I don’t go to look at others, I go for the peace and quiet and freedom.

Ive been a naturist longer than being on fab

Usually go to unofficial nude beaches in Ireland during the summer months and indoor swimming pool naturist meets all year round

Its a great leveller between people ....you could be a bin man or a doctor and no one could tell the difference

Its also good for those that are a little bit ashamed of their body

Every body shape and size is perfectly normal on a nudist beach

Its non sexual social nudity and it really bugs the crap of of me to see men go on about getting erections or wondering if there's any play on a nudist beach

I discovered naturism, as my first long term girlfriend and her family were naturists. At that time, spending time with her naked was the intriguing part.

I was simply curious at first then surprised that I do not walk everywhere with a hardon. I then realized how liberating it was and how equalizing. It helped me be comfortable with my own imperfect body and with bodies of others. Every partner I took on nudist holidays said the same thing and became more at peace with how they look.

I didn't grow up in a nudist/naturist household, but I can't remember a time when I didn't enjoy being undressed. I would say that I started doing it consciously, purely for the enjoyment of being naked when I was in my early teen years when I had the house to myself - which was fairly often.

By the time I got to university I was regularly spending time naked but didnt really consider myself a naturist/nudist until by pure coincidence I met a girl who did have naturist parents and had been on nudist holidays etc and she pointed out that this is what my liking for nakedness was. Needless to say, we enjoyed spending a great deal of time naked!

Now I regularly go on naked holidays, spend time in the home nude and will visit various clubs or spas when time allows.

I used to keep this side of me fairly hidden except to a few people I knew really well but now I am very open about it and I 'think' quite a few people have tried it after learning about my experiences.

Fundamentally though there is nothing that beats spending days on end without ever being dressed and feeling the sun all over and (as many have said) that awesome feeling of swimming nude.

Cant imagine ever not wanting to go clothes free and I would encourage everyone to try it.

Are you both nudists or do it when you can? And I totally get you're point, but all I can do is make threads as easy to read as I can. The rest is out of my control. There's always going to be some people who are too self centered to actually read and understand the whole point of the thread.

"First time I tried it it was in the middle of a run in Croatia. So hot that I stopped for a swim. As others have said, swimming naked then lying there feeling the sun and breeze on every part of you is so liberating and is hard to beat.

OT… Came here for the nudist chat, went away having read the best profile ever .

Apologies! It was all aimed at the very lovely, and very funny Hornycouga. By the looks of things, this won’t be news to many, but her profile is a masterpiece. And tagline referred to was hers. Writing something addressed to those incapable of reading seemed a bit futile.

I’ve enjoyed this thread, and have been happy to find fellow nudists through it. Fab could perhaps do a little more to cater to us. We’d love to meet people on our sadly occasional opportunities to go to a beach or spa.

To answer your question, Mr is probably more committed than Mrs, but she’s catching up. xx

As a child I didn't like wearing clothes, but my parents didn't allow me to be naked much and never in the garden. Somewhat protective of me and also not being around it themselves they curtailed it.

Years later I went to Gran Canara with a an open minded partner. I loved the freedom and the looks from women, and also men.

In more recent years I have returned to Gran Canaria as a solo traveller, staying in a gated community. I found when I went back to the same beach I noticed a couple of single women taking sneaky snaps. That was the only occasion where I felt uncomfortable. Now I choose to only be naked around other naturists, a common interest and outlook on life and no voyeuristic spectators. The worst part of naturism is that you have to put clothes back on, in the sun.

I've also given several massages to fellow naturists while on a site. You soon stop seeing bits and pieces and focus on the energy.

Naturists come in all shapes, sizes, colours and ages. When you fully let go and join in you will see your own body very differently, realising we are all different. This removes judgement and improves your self image.

Textiles could benefit of try it at least once in the right setting.

I think it's wrong that people are forced to cover their bodies at all, nothing else in the world is taught that not wrapping yourself in cloth is wrong/rude/dirty etc

I love the freedom it gives me, that feeling is so good, and it makes me so at peace in my body, and so connected to nature, and it's so freeing and exciting

For me naturism encourages a healthy and non-judgmental attitude towards one's own body and others, fostering self-acceptance and body positivity.

I love being naked and do this when I can, however I find it hard as I have a family and they are not so keen on this lifestyle. I have yet to try any beaches but can’t wait to and also looking at going to Clover Spa near me. Has anyone ever been?
