So, January is probably the most popular time of year to get divorce proceedings started.

How long does it take these days, with those new no blame divorces in action?

When's the optional time to meet a freshly single man, who's moved out of the marital/family home? You know, when they're still maybe feeling a little bit vulnerable and wounded.

My divorce was uncontested and from start of online process to end was 42 days. I dated afterward but took about 2 years to clear the past from affecting the new, after that I was ready to look to the future and met Penny.

Did you go through a rebound phase?

If both parties agreeing and being adult in replying to emails, then the online divorce process is really quick and easy. If you go on the gov website it shows you the whole process including the amount of weeks you wait in-between each stage. You get email confirmation throughout each stage. It's far better than the old way, and chasing solicitors!

As for dating again, you just have to use your instincts with what feels right

Haha I missed that! I'd say get in quick, the more vulnerable the better....but be warned, the sex needs to be really really good to make up for the hours and hours of him wanting to talk about his ex wife!

…. Is it? This is uncanny.

How long a divorce takes? I got told 8 month could be the worst case scenario.

I don’t know how long before you let some rock your boat op. When you are ready ! And not when other people try to tell you when they think that should be.

Essex

When I split with my ex it was January, as we were never married just together for 20 plus years. I moved out the following weekend I had a date through PoF. We had been going downhill for a long time beforehand. We knew it was going to happen before Christmas but kept it from the kids until after.

We had only had sex once in the 6 months before I moved out and that was on holiday and only occurred because a couple in the next room were being over vigorous and got us going.

She helped me move my stuff etc and actually stayed with me the first night I’d left. We had the best sex that night we’d had in years but we both knew it had run its course.

I left didn’t take anything but my clothes car and pension. She kept the house but can’t sell it as it is split equally to the kids.

Yeah, I'm not a therapist, this is half the problem. But a sympathetic smile and generally agreeing seems to work.

Had my mouth agape when I got to the end of the OP.

My ex started dating a month after we ended our (too) long relationship. A fucking MONTH. What a twat. So if you want a twat - get in there really fast!

My separated wife and I are on very good terms and would use one of these DIY divorce kits.

Problem is the house is in joint names and even though I rent out a room and am paying the mortgage myself on paper I can't afford my own house.

So cannot get her off the mortgage and deeds. Dilly of a pickle

So how is it that I only ever seem to meet men who have been 'separated and living their own lives for many years, but still living in the marital home for the kids, and because they can't afford to change the living arrangements'

I know this is genuinely a challenge for many separating couples, but come on, years after the 'separation' and nothing has changed...?? I'm not THAT gullible

My ex started dating a guy a months after she moved out (even before decree absolut). Three month after they started living together. That was the moment I was most vulnerable and in a huge need of rebound sex.

Yep. During the time we were ‘trying’. It’s more complicated, but that’s a fact. I knew she was seeing someone. So I left.

Divorce proceedings started in April and it was over by November.

It took 9 months for me to sleep with someone else. Not because of my ex husband but because I was very poorly
