"I often wonder this. Is anyone happy?? Or is everyone just plodding on waiting to be happy?" You have hit the nail on the head there, a very astute comment. I am happy some of the time and content a lot of the time. I think a lot of people fail to recognise the happiness that can be found in the moment because they are so busy waiting to be happy.

"I know I am happy when I don't feel I need anything. If I realise I am happy I slide towards doing something self destructive to bring some balance to my life " That is really interesting - happiness is a state of just being without any particualr "sensation".... and the moment here are sensations.. it is a sign of some doom?

" Not sure about impending doom, but happiness is easier to find by living in the moment. I often feel happier in the phases when I am meditating regularly

"So if we know when we are happy, and what makes us happy... why dont we do more of it? " cos there has to be darkness for us to truly appreciate the light

"that you are happy and what do you do when you are? " I am probably happier at this time of my life than I have been for many many years. I actually sit back and chill. But I do notice that when I am truly happy from within, it is infectious and other people get caught up in my radiance

"So if we know when we are happy, and what makes us happy... why dont we do more of it? cos there has to be darkness for us to truly appreciate the light " You are probably right - as much as I always dispute the existence of polarity ... I think you could be right - without knowing at some level what the opposite of happy is... we would not know the state of happiness!

"So if we know when we are happy, and what makes us happy... why dont we do more of it? Because it's hard to believe we always deserve to be happy?" You know, I sometimes wonder whether we stop ourselves sometimes from experiencing real happiness because we feel we somehow dont "deserve" it. Maybe that is soemthing to do with self esteem or self-worth?

" not actually sur that we can be happy all the time tbh.. maybe life is a bit like sailing acoss an ocean, there will be calm times which could be 'your average day'.. peaks and trouphs in stormy weather.. good times when a fair wind is in your sails.. hopefully the latter will outnumber the former.. not sure thats the right response, hey ho..
