Fika - a moment to slow down and appreciate the little things in life.

What are you appreciative of?

Let’s have a fika. Slow down, reflect and state your gratitude.

I’m so grateful for the serendipity of the people in my life and their timing, their care, and how they make my heart burst.

I’m grateful for the opportunities that have come my way over the last few weeks. It’s been a wonderful start to the year.

I do this quite often especially when I've been in a bad depressive state. It's like I'm looking at things with new eyes.

Right now I'm thankful for my family and friends

I gathered that, is "fika" a anagram or what, just seems an unusual word

Not an anagram, no. It’s a Swedish word.

I'm thankful I'm alive.

Critically ill last year, and have had to learn how to walk again. Given me a whole new appreciation for life.

I always thought fika meant to take a break in Swedish. As in lets fika, fancy a fika, etc. to take a break for a coffee and chat with friends. I may have been wrong all this time.

North East Scotland, mostly

I had one tonight - it was my first time back singing in a group this year. I felt all the feelings.

It’s both. It’s utilised (in my understanding) as coffee and cake break etc as the epitome of slowing down and appreciating things.

I've heard of the slow food movement. Pity employers thing that 30 minutes equates as lunch hour. Especially when you are in jobs where you are screamed at for sitting down. Tongue in cheek !
