What makes you feel secure when you feel insecure? What gets you out of those thoughts?

London

I remember that I mean well in life and that people I feel connection with do too - and whatever is going on there’s love. And that’s all that’s really important. And perhaps I just need to ask someone or myself to explicitly show me some love right now because I’m wobbling. And “this too shall pass”.

My partner. They have a natural gift of putting me in a much better headspace.

Nothing sorts that out than a really meaningful hug..

If one isn't forthcoming a 30 mile hike does the trick too.

Regardless of who you are, what you have or what you look like.. Somebody out there is literally preying to be in the position you are.. So be thankful for the small things you normally take for granted.

When times are perplexing we need to believe; believe everything will be ok, be kind to yourself

If it’s a personal issue - a hug.

If not - usually a good hard look at myself in the mirror and affirmations and a kick up the arse.

I'm self employed. I work alone. So they just get dealt with at a later time.

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

I don't ever recall being like that as an adult..... More like when I was a child/teen.

I'm used to being alone & sorting my own shit out in every day life. I don't have the luxury of time, I'm busy. I treat any situation as an adventure, something new. Above all I'm optimistic & positive even though I know deep inside that it might go shit shaped.... That's life!!!!

I talk to people more possibly than I ever did cos of Covid & lockdown. Is that an insecurity? Dunno? You'd be surprised the things people say in reply or talk to you about....

I'm a bit like that Buddha quote - "only believe what you know to be true in your heart." If you work off that then you can't go wrong! Can you?

Insecurities are negative emotions anyway - fuck that!

It's nice to have someone you can confide/shoot the breeze with though.

Carlisle usually

Um.

I do. Mostly.

Sometimes I have to embrace the spiral and let it play itself out first. But it's me that wanders through the debris and pieces together enough of it to make sense of.

With the bad ones then usually I'll go to someone I adore and talk it through with them too. Because some outside affirmation helps me solidify the security and know that I'm not just projecting what I want to see in that chaos

Knowing that it'll pass and keep reminding myself of that usually helps.

The Mr is good at helping too as well as distracting myself from my own mind.

Nothing. Feel the fear and do it anyway.

Or go have a lie down.

What helps me when I'm insecure..... A hug from the kids or dog helps. If it's not too bad, or distracting myself with jobs. A bit of time on my own to regroup can help too and when I'm really falling down that rabbit hole and can't get myself out, I ask for help.

I tend not to feel insecure much these days (yay therapy!) However, actively acknowledging that the wobble will pass, then putting an audiobook on to keep my mind from spiralling often helps. If it's really bad I need to shutdown and have a nap.

Delightful Bliss

I ride that fear/flight endorphin and power through, stress and pressure highs are quite addictive for me
