Depends how hard your training, what your doing to assist with recovery e.g. nutrition, sleep

Reduced fat and sugar intake

Increased protein and Fibre

3 specific set meals and specific times rather than just as and when I feel like it usually consisting of either Chicken or fish with Rice and veg

DOMS shouldn’t last long. You can help alleviate it by foam rolling, stretching, and or massaging the areas you’ve trained post training.

As I am only about 3 weeks in not yet

I want to set a pattern and make it a habit before doing that if that makes any sense

All sounds good, if your aching excessively your probably over doing it but mild Doms is normal. Good luck

The hurting means you’re going it right ( so long as it’s not too much hurting).

If it’s hurting ‘you doing something wrong’

When you stop aching ‘you not training hard or heavy enough’

Would agree with this. I was pretty sore for the first few weeks, but if I go consistently, I really don’t get that sore anymore. At least not to that extent. But if I skip more than a few days, I will be very very sore again. The key is doing it consistently.

That's currently what I'm trying to train my brain on

I have made a set schedule 3 days a week every week and so far I'm sticking too it

Did have one day where I nearly didn't but convinced myself if I didn't go this time I would keep finding excuses and dragged myself

Your bedroom

Muscle soreness is common when you first start as your muscle hasnt been trained in months years etc you should not be constantly sore if you are take a look at your habits i.e sleep water recovery nutrition and training programme!!! All the best on your journey

Always start light and build weight up with some sort of linear progression. Should hardly get DOMS that way.

Pain is a bad thing.

SW Scotland

The day after a heavy session I’ll repeat the exercises at a very light weight to get myself moving through the whole range.

I’ve always found the more inactive I am then the longer the DOMS last for
