Yes,I had a job cold calling people for kitchens, I was only there a matter of weeks as it went bust.

Absolutely hated it. Never again. Think I was under 20.

Warehouse for a shop in Chinatown stuff was going off they would still use it & send to stores it put me off Chinese for a while was there for 3 days on 3rd day health & safety came to check it & they told me not to work 4th day

Yes my last job was a nightmare. So much politics, backstabbing, macho willy waving and senior leadership ignoring my professional advice, meddling and/or stopping me from doing my job - then berating me when the outcomes weren't what they wanted.

I've counted my blessings every day since I left.

Yeah, that I was terrible at - sure. It was business sales orientated. Not me.

But I’ve never despised a job on reflection, they’ve always brought me something - colleagues I like or I’ve learned new things, always worthwhile.

One of my Office I.T. jobs. When I started and the experienced staff member left a few months later, I discovered no system documentation, code was terrible without any "comments" to state what was going on. I was one of two with an additional two in operations (part time day to day running of system). I left after 3 years. 9 years later they replaced all systems using outside company. Went bust within a year as the systems failed.

Oh yes! Involved driving about a thousand miles a week and tonnes of prepwork beforehand and report writing afterwards. Managed it for 18 months. Since then I've been self-employed doing what I love.

Yes, I worked for a locally well known teashop and I was shit. I kept on forgetting the orders or mis-placing them. I hated the stupid aprons and frilly head things we needed to wear. They thought I was shit too so put me on washing up in the sandwich making bit downstairs :D

Oh that and then Matalan, they played 'youre so vain' Fleetwood Mac and 'I get the sweetest feeling' Jackie Wilson, on repeat. Basically I still can't hear them now as they absolutely grate on me.

If that was a part-time thing without the managerial aspect, i reckon that could be fun.

Someone I know went to work at a wolf sanctuary in the canadian wilderness which i thought was epic.(-from a job that we all hated at the time.)

When I was really skint once I sold pet and mountain bike insurance in the evenings after work , it was awful cold calling for 3 hours every night . I would close 10 per night but most would cancel afterwards so made barely no money

I worked at a hotel in Tipperary where the management were nothing but absolute bullies. Not the GM, the ones further up.

I had a doubt at the interview but needed the higher salary.

I lasted 6 weeks, had a breakdown and just left.

Employed as an apprentice gardener years ago to sit around in an old shed, in winter, with an old man twiddling our thumbs waiting for spring so the grass would grow. Now and again he would treat me to go out picking up leaves which was the highlight.

I had similar sticking a leaflet into a brochure, was daytime work thankfully. We weren't allowed to talk either bc we couldn't be trusted to both speak and do the job at the same time

I've worked at 3 places since I was 18 and I think I've pretty much left my jobs before I've had a chance to fully hate them. The closest would be the first place where I did my apprenticeship and left after 5 years. I felt like the work wasn't fulfilling and I constantly had chats about what I wanted to do and had ideas for how to do it, but I just felt pigeonholed into a certain role I wasn't happy with and as it was my first job, I probably stayed longer than I should've out of fear of not finding anything better.

Worked at the local hospital downsraies canteen many many moons ago. Loathed it. Workplace bullying was rife. Think I lasted a couple of months before I told the manager where she could stick her egg custards!

Local council same type of behaviour but intensified. Had to have an exist interview. Lasted 3 months there, one month was sick leave.

Worked in a vegetable processing and packaging plant when I was a teenager. The work itself wasn't all that bad, quite easy, if not a bit monotonous but the money was crap. It was back before the introduction of the minimum wage when companies paid what they liked. It was actually the management and supervisor's who made it unbearable. They were more like dictators. You actually had to ask to go to the toilet and you were told to be quick and god forbid if you were a minute late in getting back to your work station from your break. I think the only thing I enjoyed about that job was telling the head supervisor to ram their job right up their arse before walking out and giving her the finger. How I lasted nine months there I'll never know

The 1 I'm in right now. Hate it with a passion. Have been in it 4 year's now. Had a feeling I wouldn't like it, even before the interview. Only took it to get off the dole. As had been on it for year's at the time. Also was always told it's easier to get a new job, once you've 1 already. Which I've found out to be untrue & shit(for me anyway's).

The people that work with me, might be sound away from work. But not at work, they're like a load of toddlers(head wrecking) at work. Money is shit aswell. It's in the food production industry.

I'll be walking within the next 3 to 4 month's, even if I don't have a new job to go too. I might even consider going self employed. As working for other's doesn't seem to be for me.

I've had a fair fee job's over the year's, some of them I didn't like or didn't suit me, for some reason. But this 1 out weighs all of them by MILES.

Yes! I have always worked in Childcare and I am passionate about the industry yet I have worked for providers who just bastardise that....last place I was deputy manager and it destroyed my soul, bullying culture with a manager who would gaslight me making me doubt my abilities when I called out the bullying....

My manager would ring me on my day off to ask if I was happy as she'd heard I had job interviews lined up! Like wtf. I told her we'd discuss it when I was in. I'd go in and nothing would be mentioned...

This went on until I had an angina attack at home. Phoned in sick, when I went back in I could hear the gossip about why I was off, saw my arse and went to the managers office to be told 'don't worry about it' I then told her I quit, couldn't do it anymore....had no job lined up but fuck being in that environment. Got told I'd have to work 6 weeks notice, told her I was willing to work 4 weeks.

That afternoon I applied at the place I worked previously as I kept seeing the ad but didn't think they would entertain taking me back. Their HR rang me next morning as he recognised my name on the application and offered me an interview for the next day..I rang in sick, went to the interview, met my old boss and old colleagues and they offered me the job there and then.

3 years on and I have just been promoted to senior manager and designated safegaurding lead.

I was told at school never go into anything that involved art , design etc.

I did an electrical apprenticeship and went on to be a commissioning engineer /site manager in the automation industry.

One company who I worked for several different times . Put me in design office doing the electrical schematic drawings( this on a drawing board )

Not only hated as being in office . But again I hated art , tech drawing at school.

I do admit though as I was working with another commissioning engineer who had part trained me. We worked out a way to make being in office easy to do. In fact we after a couple of months could do drawings which were correct and did not require major alterations once built.

I did still get out to go onsite at any oppertunity.

Back in the early 80's i had a job installing cavity wall insulation, working on ladders all day drilling holes with heavy duty hammer drill. Out in all weathers on freezing cold metal ladders then going back and refilling the holes by hand with cold cement. Come the end of the day hands were raw and numb and when they warmed up they would burn for hours, no health and safety in them days and you wouldn't get away with expecting anyone to work like that these days.

Had a job in Birmingham (lower trinity street) that should tell you everything, it was rough)

Factory made gears, all day feeding a machine with discs of metal, that got sprayed with oil and cut into small gear toothed wheels. Took about 45 seconds then your had to take it out and put the next one in.

Stood up all day at the machine, 45 seconds repetitive cycle and hands soaked in oil all day, (they didn't think about gloves back then).

I lasted two and half days, when I walked out and told them it wasn't for me!

Yep I worked for a company who done security doors on offices, my job was to service and maintain them. When I took the job I made it clear i didn’t want to drive a huge arse manual van around central London. The customer where rude would spend hours driving to and from site stuck in traffic, be stuck at site as no one knew what was going on, call-outs at stupid o’clock because some jammed a door open for a fag break. The job lasted 6 months before I just walked away

No. Even working in the night shift hygiene department of a fish factory was good. It was smelly, not glamorous, cold all the time, but the colleagues made it.

I try to be a glass half full person, even if the job is not brilliant you can still have brilliant experiences there.

I love my job except for the bit I’m doing today. Disciplinary pack for a colleague who’s fucked up, and is bang to rights, and highly likely to lose his job.

No matter how cut and dry it is, it sucks dealing with this stuff. And if sucks that someone else’s idiot actions put me in this position where I have to be one of the bad guys.
