London

Scream into the abyss, dance wildly to loud music, cook something nice to eat, play with a dog and go for a walk in nature, and talk to friends.

Hope you’re ok, OP.

Nothing i would recommend anyone else to do lol but a productive response would be (depending on the situation) think carefully and make a plan of how you’re going to get out of the mess and then make sure you execute it perfectly. Hopefully things will start looking good soon

DUMFRIES

One of two things......if I'm in the car I'll put on some music and sing like no one else is listening....if I'm home I lose myself in fiddling with things, fixing whatever is broken, breaking then fixing what was OK. If I fix something that was broken it makes me feel slightly better....perhaps because I'm broken and cannot be fixed

"& things just haven't gone your way for a while no matter how much you try what do you do for your little wins to boost your morale & keep going?"

Not sure about little wins per say but in the space of two months once upon a time, I lost my dog (first and only, that was a better friend and meant more to me than anyone), then my cousin from a brain tumour a week later, couple more weeks later the Mrs was cheating on me and financially screwed us over, deciding then to walkout on me, leaving me to sort the whole she’d dug is into so she could hook up with someone else. Naturally then I lost my home and spend thousands of pounds to resolve finances with the little bit of inheritance money left to me by my grandparents. Homeless, plotless, single and morning, heartbroken beyond belief and barely holding onto my job, I was no use to anyone. Friends and family though helped drag me up, told me to keep busy and pushing forward to the future. I would say though I always pick myself up and dust myself off and keep moving forward, tbf without them and their help I’m sure I would have failed. Don’t get me wrong, going to the gym or push yourself more at the gym, a victory or achievement while gaming or trying something new are all amazing small victories that make you mentally stronger and really important as we need those small victories. It’s just the greatest victory is the one that I think in part comes from family, friends or love ones that help us free ourselves from the nightmares, insecurity, depression, pain and suffering. Just that simple knowledge that we’re not alone and there more then this. Sorry for the long woffle and tmi x

"Play music loudly and dance around the kitchen"

Exactly…

And the thread title wanted me to continue singing this….

……..

When your heart is black and broken

And you need a helping hand

When you're so much in love

You don't know just how much you can stand

When your questions go unanswered

And the silence is killing you

Take my hand baby, I'm your man

I got loving enough for two

I can either sit and become the product of the things that are happening around me. Or I make those things around me, the product of what I want them to be.

As much as I do, sometimes sit and feel sorry for myself, I also know how to get busy, and change things. Just got to put myself in the right mindset.

Nothing really works for me. Listening to music comes closest to improving my mood.

I have always been calmed by the ebb and the flow of the seasons so I go and sit in the woods and just let the peace of nature wash over me
