I have been getting my down stairs waxed for years, before that I used to shave with a normal razor. Due to the price of waxing and the difficulty finding someone local I have gone for a Phillips body shaver, it has cost me a little more than 1 wax session.

Anyone got one?

Used one?

Any tips on getting best results?

Any horror stories things I need not do?

Do NOT take the guard off under any circumstances. Mine took a chunk out.

There’s a few different Phillips shavers. Mine are like hair clippers on one end and a flexible head with foil and mini clippers on the other.

Hell

They don’t take all the hair off, so you’ll feel spiky immediately after using it. I binned mine.

This is the one I have bought 7000 series

I would say take it short with the guard on, maybe two passes at different comb lengths if you’re Chewbacca.

Then go closer with the bendy head.

It’s pretty good, just don’t let any folds occur as it really did bite a small chunk out of the old deflated balloon.

Oh and keep checking the head, it can clog up.

This. I find electric razors in general always leave behind some bristle.

I only use them as a preparation trim for a wet shave if I've allowed my body hair grow too long

I honestly don’t think you can beat the closesness that a razor blade can give.. I haven’t used an electric razor for many many years, and gave up on them for that very reason.

It appears little has changed.
