Southwick

Carnage.

Started yesterday morning and probably hasn't stopped. Once again the authorities have either been caught out or just haven't bothered as buses were suspended yesterday evening as roads not gritted....it's very hilly in Brighton.

Will be venturing out in a while once I get out from my warm duvet.

I froze my little butt cheeks off riding home last night too! Warm bath was a very welcome treat! Dusting of snow now gone so I'll be taking Marvin out for a ride later on...and give him a sponge bath as a reward for being such a good boy!

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Below a certain temperature, including wind chill temps, salt will not melt nothing assuming the wind hasn`t blown the salt away before it could do it`s job! And that same wind was blowing the snow was being blown off the fields to add to the caos. Also, people stuck in traffic jams were moaning how long they`d been stuck and hadn`t seen a gritter! Well of course they`re not going to see a gritter on a road that`s full of stationary traffic! Gritters have to drive along the road, not fly through the air!!!!

Believe me, working for a Local Authority Highways department, I can assure you that gritters would have working flat out although their efforts will have benn nullified by the conditions.
