Same here and I have have it on for 10 mins plus, with no ill effects. Others run to the hills with bad reactions.

It did the first time I used it because I left it on too long but it really doesn't sting as long as you know how to do it.

Around 7 minutes does it for me. Use the scraper and then wash the rest off in the shower
