Bradford and Stockport

I'm planning some household re-decoration and a friend is offering advice on colour schemes. She keeps suggesting paints with names like "cliff walk", "letters unread", "monarch", "vast lake",

All real colour names! And none of them give any clue what the colour actually is!

So tell me, if Fab was a company making paint or wallpaper, what names would appear in its colour charts? And what would those colours actually be?

The best advice I've had from an interior designer is this -

How do you want to feel in each room?

Think about that. Do you want a shower room that wakes you up and energises you for your day? Or a calm bathroom to unwind in before bed. Or does it need to be more neutral because you want both?

Decide the moods for each space and then the colour choices become easier. You just pick the ones you associate with the feelings/mood you want

Starter suggestion:

"Nocturnal emission" - a bright luminous green.

Not fair to ask the question on a reply OP

I know - a touch of premature posting...

The Politics Forum? Probably something along the lines of 'Arterial Blood Red' as it gets a bit feisty in there.

The Virus Forum? A technicolour mix of crazy, simply called 'Batshit'

Swingers Chat would be wall to wall 'Creamy Spunk' and the Lounge would be a lovely shade of yellow called 'Ray of Fucking Sunshine' because its full of joy and happiness.....

On a serious note the Chinese have this covered with feng schui, next time you are in an expensive restaurant check out the colour scheme, to relax you the walls receiving most light are painted a slightly lighter shade of the same colour so the light reflectance zzzzzzzzzzzzz balance of the colour makes zzzzzzzzzzzz the adjacent wall appear brighter so the illusion zzzzzzzzzzzzz is the angle of the walls disappears zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz giving the apoearance of a single wall promoting calm and relaxation.zzzzzzzzzzz They have been at this for generations . Top players pay thousands zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz to designers to work this stuff out ,even putting false rounded corners in dark areas . Zzzzzzzzzz Frank lloyd Wright went the opposite way zz to define angles , yet used mostly white to soften edges ZZZ Hope that helps zzzzzz, zzz.Further consultation may receive an invoice ,just joking zzz

Manchester (she/her)

Balls - a cool icy blue, suggesting a great need

CBT - a blue tinged purple, also about balls

Drained - the colour is less relevant than its ability to look wrinkled no matter what you do

I worked at a paint and wallpaper manufacturer many times , the Llowen fennel bowen designer or what ever his name was promoted a'sports car seat piping yellow' .On the Munsell scale it was one up from an apricot white , available at half the price .Most wallpapers are of similar quality ,yet the price difference is massive depending on who designed it. For best value get the 6 foot wide stuff,

As for my choice of colour l think bullshit brown just about right with a feature wall of tripe yellow

Does it come in an authentic mottled finish, you know, to look like its inspiration?

(Can you imagine the concept board in a corporate board room )

I mean you could probably get that authentic finish by not stirring it first

Then go to one of those down home DIY youtube channels to find out the best tools to use for the finish

That would make a great 'feature wall'.

*assuming it was more 'soft and fluffy' rather than scratchy

I think a selection of Fab greige colours would be adequate to reflect the majority of the forum splashback

Posters asking for feedback, especially when they've done most to evidence having not learned anything at all, from the multiple earlier profile feedback requests. 1 or several dick pics, particularly over a soiled bog. A greige blend with a hint of turd.

Users inspiring or responding in a predictable Pavlovian style, especially to/with the likes of bareback, unicorn etc - a greige variant, with a flavour of dense fog.

Premium range greige-

Specially selected for anyone who wants to know how to get a sex uninterested partner into swinging, particularly if user has been in Fab for years, with verifications from a selection of users and other posts demanding to know why there's negativity about cheating. Greige with a touch of red, for embarrassment and entitlement.

If you take a sample in, some paint stores can do a colour match. Not sure you would be allowed to do a live sample though!!
