When that happens, it does leave me confused.

How does it make you feel?

What does it mean?

What if they are on your friends' list?

Not confused. It says to me that they’re not interested in talking to me.

If it’s someone on my friends list it’s probably not that deep because we’re friends. If there’s an issue they’d probably unfriend me at the least.

I'd assume they didn't want to talk to me at that time and that probably they didn't want to talk to me ever.

If they were in my friends list I might try messaging again in a week and if they deleted that one I'd take the hint

I suggest that you reassess your friendships if they are no longer replying and unceremoniously deleting your messages.

If we send and people just delete it, then fair enough, no attraction, nothing wrong with that, after all everyone has types etc.

And likewise if we get mails, and from people we aren't into, or not wanting/looking for then we just delete (a lot of the time). Again nothing meant with it, just why waist both our time?

If on friends list, maybe they have moved on, just remove them, and if they then get back to you, you can always re-friend, no hard feelings meant after all.

I hate being ignorant so I usually reply but it gives people the wrong idea so I end up with an army of granddad's thinking they're gonna get some even though we're not looking for single men and we have an age limit

When I first came on many moons ago it was a little disheartening especially if you were friends.

After a short time I understood it meant they weren’t interested or if you’ve been talking they changed their minds or found someone better suited.

If you’re cold messaging you have to develop a skin like a Rhino or Fab can wreck your confidence.

These days I don’t take Fab too seriously and just have fun. If I get a meet great if not well it’s not the end of the world.

Just keep your chin up, don’t take it too personally and enjoy the site anyway you can

It’s happened to us all, OP. Women are not immune from it either (maybe the super popular ones)

I never check the status of a message once it’s sent, if I don’t get a reply then that’s my answer

We can change ourselves but not expect to change others. It's often our expectations that are adrift from reality here

Creating realistic expectations is perhaps one of the best things that you can do.

Most people are not mutually compatible with most other people. Chats will start but most won't lead to meeting and even fewer to sex. And tastes and preferences change over time. As a single man here, they need to invest very heavily in their efforts to stay on top of their game, as well as to move on from the dying cold embers of what may once have seemed like the flames of burning passion and lust.

What I do generally is if I send an message, I'll delete it from my sent box immediately, so I don't know if they've even read it, or deleted it, and then carry on with my day.

I wouldn't go that far, what if they read it whilst waiting for an appointment and intend to reply later!?

I'd just ignore it and if they are friends maybe try again at some point and if then nothing then assess the 'friendship'

Ive got a disclaimer of how I accept it in my profile. … I accept no reply to me is a no. It’s just that, until they tell me otherwise. It’s all good.

And that’s my advice to anyone.

I seem to miss the “friend” part, sorry OP.

Usually if I’m friends with someone from here, I’m already on some kind of messaging app outside Fab so a little bit different rules apply.

If they are on your friends list sometimes it can be a mistake, they meant to reply to you and then did a mass delete etc... mistakes do happen sometimes, but sometimes they don't. Try one more time and if they don't get back to you and they do the same, delete on your side.

If they aren't on your friends list, it can just be one of those things unfortunately.

No reply, no interest I'm afraid. I don't take it personally.

If a friend did it, however, I'd be pissed off & wonder why. If they did it again, I'd delete & move on. After all, any "friends" that don't have my whattsapp aren't really worth bothering about.
