Why is it that phone calls can produce such crippling anticipatory anxiety in one?

I mean it’s never *that* bad once you’re in the call, but knowing you’ve got to make one or waiting to receive one is uggghhh.

Or the dreaded unexpected call! *phone goes and you look at it in horror thinking why aren’t you texting me/if it’s important they’ll leave a voicemail!

Are you alright with phone calls?

I only hate unexpected phone calls or ones from jobs I’ve interviewed for

I love phone calls for the most part. It's far easier for me to hear tone, to discuss things quickly or leisurely enjoy talking nonsense.

The only time I don't like it is when it's from a close friend/family member and they don't give me a heads up beforehand. Even a little message five minutes beforehand is fine for me.

a phone call is just interation between two people, i actually think when a person is rude to you in person that is a lot more unpalatable

How did we ever cope when the phone just rang and we had no idea who was on the other end.......

Phonecards in the middle of the night always prompt that response in me.

But otherwise a call is a call. No different to buying groceries in tescos.

First meet calls off here maybe a bit more exciting but if it goes bad there is always block and delete! Lol

Worthing

I only answer if I know the number. If it's important they can leave a message.
