In 2 weeks I'm going to be installing flood lights at Annfield stadium. I've never been to Liverpool, any advice for where to go at night would be appreciated

Just head into the town centre it’s alive especially the weekends

There’s a lot of gay or bi bars on Victoria st

You wil have to try the Lisbon it’s been there for ever

Fantastic city, the friendliest people you will ever meet - just a shame you are working at that place, wipe your feet on the way out

The bars right in the centre are always lively but can be a little pricey. Loads of great places to eat

There is a bar near to Lime St station called Coopers, a karaoke bar. try it in there, all locals, great for a laugh, discover the real scousers

You will love it, great city

Liverpool city centre has morphed into quarters over the years, all of which offer different things.

Bold Street is mostly reasonably priced food and some drinking, Concert Square (off Bold Street) is madness, especially at weekends and when an away football team are in town; the side and adjacent streets for good food and drinks.

Castle Street is upmarket bars and restaurants, an alternative choice to Albert Dock and not as cold if the wind is howling up the estuary as it’s adjacent to the river so the buildings block the wind/rain.

Reminds me, you’ll often need a coat/hoodie etc even when it’s warm during the day. The river funnels the wind off the Irish Sea and it’s fucking brutal, even for locals!

Albert Dock is more pricey as are the hotels closer to the river and docks, totally different vibe and bring your credit card.

Cavern area is an eclectic mix of bars, restaurants, old time drinking pubs of which there are many out towards Dale Street and surrounding side roads.

For something different, head out to Lark Lane and the roads around Sefton Park, more local atmosphere, superb eating and drinking and much quieter than town.

“Town” is the adjective to describe the centre of Liverpool and a word you’ll hear often.

Born and raised Scouser so PM if you need to ask anything specific.

As others have said, wonderful city and wonderful people plus you’re working at the best football stadium in the world; but I would say that!

The Town by The Cross

Been here all my life.

For an out of towner if you want nightlife STICK to the city centre.

I've long left the outdated idea of 'scousers' or 'real scousers' behind.

The people have changed as times have changed. The city is very cosmopolitan and has a high number of immigrants and students.

Don't go expecting it to be much different to any other large city.

I'm not sure what you are after for entertainment but everything you want is there.

If you fancy a club use the Townhouse just over the water in B'head. You never know, I might recognise you

P.S. I have to say , I wouldn't live anywhere else. I find liverpool to be the gateway to most destinations and has a lot to keep everyone occupied.
